Wet Hair All Day but SUPER Dry Hair When Finally Dry. What Should I Do?

So even though I have 4b/c hair I've been doing wash and go's because I don't have much time to do anything else. In the morning I'll soak my hair with water in the shower. Once I get out I add a leave-in, my shea butter mix and eco styler gel. In order to get any curl definition I have to keep my hair wet. I've tried it with less water and my hair just became frizzy. Once I get my desired definition I use my blow dryer. The only problem is that it doesn't dry. I've set my blower on high and after 30min it was still wet to the bone. I'll have wet hair all day until about 4 or 5pm and once its dry it feels parched and rough. I'll spritz and seal my hair but it dries out quickly and becomes rough again. I feel like I'm going crazy trying to figure out my hair. Has anyone else had this problem? I know having wet hair all day isn't good for my strands.

New naturals hate this answer lol but it's all about trial and error. Maybe the gel you're using isn't really working -- you'd have to find out and see. Maybe you should at least towel dry your hair before using your products so it's not sopping wet -- you'd have to find out and see. I haven't had this problem, so I can't tell you anything from experience :/ Do you know your porosity? >> http://www.naturallycurly.com/texture-typing/hair-porosity That might help!
I don't have an answer but I have the same question.  My hair is 3b/c and it's exactly like the hair of the original questioner.
Also if you're not deep conditioning that can make your hair feel really dry and cause your hair to hold on to water because it's trying it's hardest to obtain moisture which comes from water. I use to have that problem but deep conditioning regularly had shorten my drying time from 7+ hours to about 4-5 and my hair is longer now.
