Can't control my curls! (Pictures attached)

Hi, everyone! I have type 2c/3a hair that is a bit past my shoulders, long-layered. I've flat-ironed it for years, but I've been weaning myself off of the straightener for the past few months. When I want to wear my hair natural, I feel like it just won't cooperate. I feel like I've tried everything. As far as regimen (when I'm not straightening) I pre-poo with coconut oil and clarify once a week. I condition, rinse, then apply leave-in conditioner. I usually try to do wash & go's because I love the idea of free-flowing curls, but it's hit or miss with my hair. After I apply the leave-in, I apply coconut oil then my styler. I feel like I have tried so many. SheaMoisture's curl enhancing smoothie and gel souffle don't really work for my hair, although they smell amazing. I recently bought the hailed Kinky Curly Curling Custard, but I'm not having the best luck yet. My roots and lengths get great definition, but my shaft stays awkwardly wavy, and that's typical  with any product I use. Am I doing something wrong? I really want to stop damaging my hair by straightening it, but I just feel so self-conscious about my natural curls!

Your curls have heat damage, which is probably why your hair doesn't look the way you wan't it too, wherever its straight, that is damage. That's probably why your roots get the definition you want because that part hasn't been straightened as much. As far as your regimen, it seems like you are doing everything right. I recommend you stay of the heat and slowly cut off the damaged parts. Good Luck xo
