How can I keep my curls looking curly all the time? Without looking dry?
So when I wash my hair its like 2a and 2b and then idk I can't really keep it looking like that especially overnight so I tend to keep it in a French plait. How can I reduce frizz and keep my hair shiny without looking greasy? And the top half of my hair at the back looks straighter than the rest? I think its heat damaged I'm not sure (how can you tell?) And is there any way to make my hair more curlier? What shampoo and conditioner would you recommend? (I currently use herbal essences hello hydration) and my hair goes down to my hips . thank you x
Hi Lmama, I'm going to try and answer your questions by splitting them up: 1. "I can't really keep it looking like that especially overnight"Sounds like you need to sleep in a satin bonnet or a satin scarf. That will help you keep the shape. When all else fails, spritz some water in your hair in the morning and scrunch some life back into it. 2. "How can I reduce frizz and keep my hair shiny without looking greasy?"Shiny hair is hard to get when you have curly hair. But sulfate free shampoo can help you keep all the necessary oils in your hair that help make it shiny without drying it out. Reduce frizz by practicing good hair habits. Do you live in a really humid environment? If so, you wanna pay attention to the dew points and whether or not to use humectants. I would use our Frizz Forecast app to see how your hair will behave in different weather. Here's a list of anti-humectants and here's a list of humectant hair products. 3. "And the top half of my hair at the back looks straighter than the rest? I think its heat damaged I'm not sure (how can you tell?)"This is perfectly normal with wavy hair. Our waves often don't start at the roots. You can tell your hair is heat damaged because it won't curl at the ends. 4. "And is there any way to make my hair more curlier?"Yes. You can use curl enhancing methods such as plopping, diffusing, and using curl enhancing products. But there's no chemical way to alter your hair type. I would stay away from those anyway. Stick to curl-popping techniques like the above mentioned. 5. "What shampoo and conditioner would you recommend?"All of my favorite hair products are right here: http://Shop.NaturallyCurly.com/category/susonnah-wavy-2a-...There you can see my favorite shampoos and conditioners. :) Hope this helps!
