I have super thick poofy wavy hair. I need some products to try out.Any tips?

My hair is very thick. It has more curl in the front and back, and i find the sides are just thick waves, and the top of my hair tends to frizz up. Any tips or products to use?

Hi CurlyCrazym!Do you have a particular budget in mind? I can recommend lots of great products for any budget. Since you're experiencing frizz, I recommend layering a light leave-in underneath with a curl definer on top. The leave-in will help moisturize your hair and the definer will create a barrier against the humidity or frizz-inducing weather. My suggestions: Curl Definers: AG Beach Bomb $22 - this is one of the best curl creams out there. It has great hold but doesn't get crunchy, and my waves always pop! DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel ($20) - I usually go for the Light hold, but since your hair is thick you might need the Ultra. I recommend raking this through your hair and then scrunching the bottom to get some nice waves. Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel ($16.95) - this is actually a cream, and like the beach bomb it gives amazing hold and definition. I'm loving this right now. If you're on a budget: Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper ($9.99) - great against frizz. U R Curly Loose Curl Enhancer ($9.99) - this is a gel that is great at defining. Garnier Fructis Curl Sculpting Cream Gel ($3.49) - a classic! I started loving my waves with this product! Hope this helps! Remember that when you're trying to get defined curls, you want to try applying product evenly throughout your hair. Rake it in with your fingers, OR (my favorite technique) use prayer hands to glide product on both sides of your hair. Once you're hair is dry, don't touch it! That leads to frizz and poof.
