How can I keep my wavy hair looking great and frizz-free throughout my work day?
I'm pretty sure I'm 2B, but not definitely. I have wavy/sometimes curly hair and I would love to just embrace it and stop straightening 5 out of 7 days of the week. I'm a middle school teacher, so I'm constantly running around which causes frizz. I'd love to leave my hair natural, but not sure how to keep it looking fab from morning to night. Thanks!
Hi FireStorm! Welcome to NaturallyCurly! You have beautiful hair and embracing it will be a cinch. What products do you use? I'd first recommend building a solid hair regimen. I can help! 1. Shampoo - I would look for sulfate free shampoos. They are less damaging on the hair, and if you use hair color, they preserve your color for longer. My favorites are: Elucence Moisture Balancing Shampoo, only $6, and U R Curly Soya Shampoo - only $8.99 and has a wonderful tingly feeling on the scalp. 2. Conditioner - look for a moisturizing conditioner that will help you detangle in the shower. I really like Moptop Daily Conditioner, but it's a little on the pricey side. A more budget friendly favorite is Aussie Moist. It's super easy to detangle, and available every where. 3. Styler - this is something that you'll learn more over time. I would start with a mousse, as they are light in texture and perfect for wavy hair. I love all the Garnier Fructis mousses. They're great for styling and keeping away frizzy hair. They're also readily available at WalMart, Target, and pretty much every where. Be sure to apply these on wet hair, and don't use too much or else it will dry crunchy. 4. Anti-frizz serum - once your hair dries, it may frizz up, it may not. It all depends on the weather. In case it does, I would always carry with you a serum or oil that you can slide on your frizzies during the day. You can do it between your classes! Some of my favorites: AG The Oil- really helps to get rid of frizz and add shine. Carol's Daughter Marula Oil - smells amazing and a great serum to protect against frizz. Curl Keeper Original - a classic frizz fighter that works like a charm. If frizz is still a problem after using all the right products, I'd check out this article: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/frizz-co...Hope this helps!!
