Newbie Product/Care Advice?

Hi, all! I just joined today but have been reading the articles for quite a while! I'm currently using Not Your Mother's Beach Babe shampoo and conditioner (sulfate free) and also the texturizing creme for some hold! My hair looks good...for a day. I plop my hair and sleep on it, but the next day, the waves still haven't set. I'm stuck keeping it in a makeshift bun the whole next day until the waves stay in place - any way to avoid this? The top layer of my hair also frizzes up regardless of humidity, but the rest is fine. Any tips or ideas? :)

Hi Dawn97, Welcome! Glad you decided to join the conversations. Wavy hair is particularly difficult to get 2nd or even 3rd day hair. There are so many factors that go into play. 1. Are you using silicone free products? - It's my experience that silicone free products do not hold as well on second day hair. They kinda evaporate. 2. Is it cold and dry where you live? - If there's no humidity in the air your waves will fall and second day hair will be almost impossible to have. For example, over Christmas I went home (to a tropical climate) and my waves were amazing. It was because of the humidity! Consider buying a humidifier to place in your room while you sleep. (note - humidifiers have so many more benefits than just good hair ;-) )3. Are you plopping your hair with a microfiber material? A t-shirt works really well. Or you can buy one here. That will reduce the frizz on the top of your head. I hope this helps. Remember, if you try all of the above and your waves still can't hold up, perhaps you try a different product to style your hair with. One with more hold and with silicones. But always keep trying! Good luck!
Frizz is usually caused by lack of moisture if not from touching it too, putting in too much product or humidity, keep that in mind.
