Why does my hair type get looser and thinner as it gets longer? From 4a to 3b/c

when i first went natural I was about a 4a but as my hair get longer it changed to a 3b/3c . With the Native American in my family it's already genetic for me to carry the trait for thin hair but my hair was never this thin while natural.

I guess it's possible that your hair type has changed with age but also as your hair gets longer the curl gets more pulled out. For example, I am a 2b and if my hair were shoulder length or short I would have large botticelli curls but at the longer length it is now the curls are much looser.
