My hair has wider curls on top and tight ringlets underneath. How can I make my hair all one type?

I'm a 3a/b - The top gets dull and flat, and the bottom has these tight and shiny ringlets. How can I be a 3b all over my head? Shea Moisture 10-in-1 seems to be helping, but any other styling/product tips?

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. If you've been straightening your hair, you should probably stop until your hair grows out more. Is it more kinky at your roots? If so, it's probably flat at the top because of something you put in it or something you did to it. Also, if you tie up your hair a lot (in a ponytail or bun) that could be a main factor. Try to stay away from brushes.
