How do I keep low porosity hair moisturized without creating buildup?

Hello, I have low porosity, very thick, coarse, and dry hair. I'm currently cleansing my hair with rhassoul clay, but I'm struggling to keep it moisturized. I applied a little sweet almond oil. My hair liked it, but then it quickly became dry again. I'm in the process of purchasing a hair steamer. I was told that I need a water based moisturizing agent, then if needed to seal with an oil at the end. Can anyone provide me with specific examples of water based moisturizers. I like natural products. Thank you!

Hi, I have low porosity fine color treated hair and I do well with several Shea Moisture products and even with our hair differences I think you could find things that work for you there. I would think that clay draws moisture out of your hair like my charcoal masks do for my oily skin. So, that might be exacerbating your dryness. The Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil shampoo by SM is super hydrating but there are others that are less so as well (I use the Super fruit 10 in 1 most often). The key with lo po hair is that products should be a bit thinner to get into the hair better. Thick will sit on top more easily. The Tresemme Naturals conditioner would work but if that isn't natural enough for you I would try one from SM like the Manuka Honey. Personally, I like the the SM Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave In conditioner and Styling Lotion. I don't use an oil as I think it would sit on top or not really penetrate well enough. I have more more moisturized hair since doing this. Kinky Curly Knot Today and Curling Custard are also natural and staples of mine. Best!
here is my good hair day I'm trying to repeat....
