My 9month old has short hair, and it's very kinky and dry! How do I promote growth and keep it moist

SO CUTE!!!!!My sister has a baby girl and boy and she keeps their thirsty little coils moist with water (spritz daily with water bottle) and shea butter (right after washing while its still wet). She also uses SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie which is very moisturizing. She hasn't tried the SheaMoisture baby or kids products but those may be worth a try as well. Moisturizing daily with water, followed by shea butter or some moisturizer like the curl enhancing smoothie, is key in keeping the hair moisturized. If you don't wash the hair everyday and the hair still feels moisturized by the second day then you can skip and start moisturizing every other day. But, especially if you wash with a shampoo that has sulfates or other ingredients that strip natural oils, daily moisturizing is essential. I would recommend trying a gentler shampoo, like any of the SheaMoisture shampoos (except the African black soap which I found to be too drying even for me) since they don't have sulfates. Here are some other gentle products you might try: http://Shop.NaturallyCurly.com/category/kids-hair-product...I hope that helps!
