How to refresh hair AFTER being in a ponytail?

Next fall, I'm starting cross-country. It's every day after school in September-October. I always put my hair in a ponytail- I've tried putting it in a bun, but it tends to flop around and be annoying. Usually I wash my hair every 3-4 days. On the days I don't wash my hair, I use a shower cap. So I was wondering, are there any ways to refresh my hair after it's been in a ponytail? Even if I do a loose ponytail, the first several inches of my hair end up flat. And I can't wash my hair every day because I don't have 4 hours every day for it to dry before I go to bed. Thanks!

I put my hair in a pineapple every night before I go to bed . That's basically a high ponytail . I have a water bottle filled with half water and half conditioner . When I take the pineapple out in the morning I spray a couple squirts on my the tip of my fingers and apply it to the areas it looks most needed . It brings back the curls and is quick . Hope this helps :)
It sounds like your ponytails may be too tight. Ponytails stretch the hair, depending on how tight they are. Try putting your hair into a looser ponytail( tight enough to hold your hair in place but loose enough to not stretch your hair out ). When you're done, you can simply let your hair out of the ponytail, moisturize it and arrange or style it as you wish.
