Just an update on my previous review. At the time, I was wearing my hair longer and I would usually blow it out straight. After 6 years, I finally took Rob's advice and decided to go shorter and curly. I'm so glad I listened to him...is the best cut I have ever had and it feels great to finally free my curls! Those with curly hair know how difficult it is to make such a change. We always live in fear of a bad cut. I have not worn my hair curly for the past 20 years because I always hated every cut I ever had when it was curly. Rob cut it in a way that make the curls lay perfectly, like I always wanted my curly hair to look but never could. No helmet head, no triangle shape...just a fabulous shape that I love and have gotten tons of compliments on!!!!

Cut my hair short, and gave me a bowl cut. Curly hair needs weight in the back not a buzz cut.

I have been a client of Rob's for 7 years this summer & I will never let anyone else ever touch my hair! He is the most amazing hairdresser ever, knows just how to handle my curls, from the perfect cut to the perfect color. He just has this amazing talent & is seriously one of the most awesome people you will ever meet in your life! All I can say is GO, you are in GREAT hands!

I found Rob on this website after a string of bad haircuts. I was looking for someone to save my naturally curly hair, and Rob did just that! He is easy to talk to, honest and really good with scissors. I will never go anywhere else. My hair is bouncy, healthy and I am happy.

When I moved to Belmar, I looked on naturallycurly.com for a new hairdresser since mine was too far away. I tried Rob at La Dolce Vita because he had a number of positive reviews regarding his ability to manage curly hair. I, too, would like to strongly recommend Rob...I have never received as many compliments on my hair as I have since I have been going to him. These are some of the things I think you will like at his salon: 1) He is very attentive to the special needs (and fears!) of people with curly hair....the first time I called he offered to schedule a free consultation first to make sure I was comfortable with him. He spent quite a bit of time during my first visit discussing the cut and color and my specific requests and needs. 2) His cuts and color are phenomenal!! The style he recommended totally works for me. My hair doesn't just look good when I leave the salon....it looks good even after I style it myself. And I have gotten so many compliments on my color since I have been going to him...very natural. This is definitely big city talent and skill in a small town salon. 3) He handles booking his own appointments and does full service himself including color, cut, wash and style. This makes for a very personalized and pleasant experience and not as much waiting around. I have never had any of the booking problems I have had in the past with other larger salons and it's much easier to schedule appointments when you don't have to coordinate with a stylist and a colorist. 4) Rob is just a cutie pie and will have you laughing and smiling the entire time you're there! I always look forward to my appointments because of the fun, humorous and provocative discussions we have. I swear we will solve the entire world's relationship troubles by the end of one of my appointments! Trust me when I say, it will be a fun, light-hearted, stress-free part of your week when you go....plus your hair will look AWESOME! To summarize, I highly recommend that you try Rob. He has true talent and an obvious dedication to his craft, especially with curly hair. AND you will have a blast and a very stress free salon experience!

I've been going to La Dolce Vita for 13 years. Rob is the only stylist/colorist who has ever been able to handle my curly, wavy, corse hair. Consultations are free of charge and he always respects your decisions but will offer advice if the occasion warrants. The salon is beautiful. It's decor has a calming effect. One of the main reasons I've stayed with Rob (besides the amazing haircuts) is his one on one approach to scheduling appointments. You always feel you have his complete attention at all times. Don't be reluctant to try this wonderful salon.
