If you have natural hair, make ABSOLUTE sure that you know what you want done to your hair, and do all your research. Before coming into the salon, I sent an email asking if the salon specialized in natural hair and how much a haircut to take off my relaxed ends would cost. Dita, the owner, replied to me and said that they do dry-cutting and natural hair, and that all of that would cost around $50. I called in to make an appointment and was scheduled with Dita, which I thought was awesome, thinking that she would be an expert on natural hair. I was far from correct. I entered the salon and Dita asked me what services I was looking for, so I told her that I wanted to cut off my relaxed ends in order to be completely natural; I had spent about a month convincing myself just to do the big chop and I was ready, so I was so disappointed when she blatantly told me NO because she would prefer not to, as if it was her own head that she was working on. I'm not a confrontational person, and thinking that she knew what she was doing, I agreed to let her do her thing. I WILL NOT be going back again and I encourage anyone looking for natural hair services around the Allen Park area (because this salon has moved to Allen Park) to try Melissa Stites at Anthony's Salon instead.
Derrick was my stylist for 8 years prior to me going natural. I absolutely love him. I never let anyone else touch my head....he needs to become a natural stylist. He is also a color specialist. He is the reason I am very tempted to go back to color.
My daughter went in as a walk in for her 16th birthday. She was in & out within an hour. She has thick hair. The style was cute & her hair was healthy. The salon's price was reasonable. Strand Theory's shop is very chic. Very cute. It is also conveniently located.
