I had the best haircut ever with Joyce in late October 2011. I have received so many compliments on my hair I stopped counting! Joyce cut my hair dry, which I have never had done before, so I was extremely skeptical! It has been 2 months and I still don't need another haircut yet! I think I will get 3 months out of this haircut! If you have frizzy curly hair and live near Ridgewood,NJ go see Joyce. It will change your life!

Joyce is awesome!! Not only is she talented at cutting hair she's sweet, kind and funny. This was my first visit to the salon which by the way isnt actually a "salon" its a beauty supply shop and Joyce has a little set up in the back of the store but she has everything you would find in a full service salon. Actually I loved that it was so small because the time she spent with me was with ME. She explained every thing she did and why she did it. She completely understood what I was saying I didnt like about my hair and corrected it. She also did my color which is equally beautiful. If you are stuggling with your curls or a bad hair cut go see Joyce. Also, for being in Ridgewood, NJ, I only paid $105 for color AND cut. I expected to pay much more.

Initially I was going to make an appt. at Glamour Too in Waldwick but when I read one of the reviews it said that their Deva certified stylist was no longer taking new clients. The reviewer went on to say that they referred her to Glamour Beauty in Ridgewood and that Joyce was a Deva certified stylist. Well I just got back from my appt. with Joyce and OMG, I love my hair. First of all her personality is amazing, and that goes a long way with me. She taught me every step of the way, about the cut, products, the application, using the diffuser...everything. She told me what she thought would look good on me and also asked me what I wanted. This is by far the BEST haircut I have ever had. The price was great as well, I really thought it was going to be more expensive. Bottom line, Joyce is amazing...make an appt. with her now.

Initially, I called Glamour Too in Waldwick, NJ because I had read here that Alison was excellent with Deva Cuts. But, when I called and talked to Nick (owner), he told me that Alison was not taking on new customers and redirected me to Joyce in his Ridgewood store/salon. He reassured me that Joyce was equally as good as Alison. I found the place (on street parking isn't great there) and went in. The salon is all the way in the back of the store and only has 2 or 3 stations. So, their main business isn't the salon - it's the retail merchandise they sell. BUT, who cares? Joyce gave me a terrific cut - one that accentuates my curls. She took the weight off the back part of the canopy which allowed the curls to return (they were dragged down by the weight of the hair back there). She knew just what to do to correct the bad cut I had experienced a couple months earlier at a crummy salon elsewhere. I highly recommend Joyce. She's Devachan certified (I have a picture with her Deva certificate - LOL!) and knows her stuff. Joyce is a keeper. It's as simple as that. :) ...Oh... and the price wasn't astronomical, either. I was afraid it might be since Ridgewood is a very well-to-do town. But, my Deva cut there was very reasonable, IMO. Plus, Joyce suggested that I come back in three months - rather than the standard 4-6 weeks I've always heard before. :)
