I have had Ouidad cuts in the past, but they were just OK. I love the products and really wanted to give the "carve and slice" another chance. After doing research, I came upon the great reviews for Lisa. Let me assure you, her great reviews are well deserved! She listens to concerns and does a great job. My hair looks amazing! Highly recommended!

Based on the reviews I read, I went to Steph at Salon DeSante.
It was a tremendous disappointment.
First, my appointment was for 12pm, I was left waiting until 12:35pm, which, I can forgive, I understand that sometimes you can run late. However, I'm not exaggerating when I say this is by far the WORST haircut I have ever gotten.
She cut me too short on top, after I repeated several times I wanted a shape up, and not to go too short. I look like a poodle when my hair is curly, and when I straighten it, it looks even worse. You can see where she chopped it off and my head looks like a light bulb.
Now the color--I told her I didn't want to go too dark, she told me she knew what color to put in based on my olive complexion. Well, my hair was BLACK for 2 weeks. Thank God, it was semi permanent,and after 2 weeks of washing everyday (which is the worst thing for curly hair) the color came down a notch. Oh, and I forgot to mention, my forehead, and side of my face was stained from the color for 2 days. What a nightmare, she ruined my hair, and I'm very upset about it.
I will never go back there again.

I just want to add my vote to the rest. Steph is wonderful. I've been going to the same person for 5 years and had no complaint, but when she was unable to work, I had to find someone else. After reading this board, I tried Salon DeSante and have the best hair I've ever had. Steph listened to me and gently talked me into a different color than the one that I originally wanted. I was skeptical, but after it was done, I'm realizing that this was precisely the color for me. Whenever I see myself in a photograph, I can't believe it's me. She knew just what hair color was good for bringing out the color in my eyes and my skin tone. I can't say enough good things about her. The cut itself is perfect. No weird uneven edges or anything like that. Curls perfect even after 3 months! Steph is also an incredibly nice person and you know that's important when you have to hang out with somebody for several hours in close quarters.

Steph is great with natural curly hair. I used to go to Joseph at Signatures in Center City Philadelphia but I prefer Steph! She not only knows how to cut curly hair but she also listens to your thoughts about your hair and teaches you what she is doing and how to do it yourself. For less than 1/2 the price of Signatures, Steph is well worth the trip to Springfield!

I recently took the trip to NYC to visit the Ouidad salon and had a good cut. I decided that $125 was a bit much to spend and went to Steph a couple months later. She's been cutting my husband and his family's hair for years. She did a fabulous job and it only cost me $30. My friends, husband and I can't tell the difference between my Ouidad cut and hers. I went to her a few years ago and loved the cut .. she has always told me that you have to cut curly hair differently. I finally listened to her and am so excited about the fact that I can get a great cut without going into NYC. I absolutely love my hair. Because it's winter, I diffuse it and it is always curly.
