Stylist: Lacy

Lacy is the best! I went in with this mop of long hair that was a little too long for my curls to have bounce and I'd been hacking away at "bangs" for the last few months. I wanted a hairstyle that could go curly and look good but also accommodate the times I want to wear it straight. Lacy takes the time to really talk to you about your goals and your hair. She showed me where I needed to trim some hair that wasn't doing anything to help me (it's the stuff I'd pull on and look at and not know what to do with so I'd always end up in ponytails). Then she showed me how I needed a few face framing layers, a little bit of a side part, then blended all my old layers so the curls lay nicely. I've given it a few weeks to see if I changed my mind, but I haven't...I still LOVE this cut and she was able to keep so much of my length! I've even straightened it once to see how it looks and it's a great style then, too! Also, I'm in my early 30's and going very gray, so I went back for a semi-permanent hair color - she chose a great one and I'm loving not having any grays but still having healthy hair. I've already recommended the Lux Machine to two friends at work!

I found Lacy after I had tried a few other stylists who have been reviewed here. The other stylists weren't bad they just weren't great. Lacy is pretty fabulous. She has curly hair herself which I think makes a big difference. I've had 4 cuts with her now and they were all great, long cuts and now a shorter one. Her skill/technique is great as well as her artist eye. I really feel like this is the first time that my haircut was tailored for my curls ie my curls in the front are a lot tighter, I get weird bulk on the sides, almost some straight pieces - but she knows how to make the cut work for me. I haven't had any color or highlights so I can't say much about that. But I would trust her to do it right based on my cuts. She's approachable and I have no problem telling her my needs and she's great with making suggestions. She's also got that good balance of talking or not talking if you don't feel like it. As far as the salon itself goes, I like it as well. It seems like there are a range of clients, all ages, hairs, men/women. It's easy to get to, right off Camp Bowie. It's clean, kind of mid century modern feel but not fussy at all. Very comfortable. They also do a lot of charity which is pretty awesome. I think the last one was a food drive for the Tarrant county food bank. They've done water for the homeless when it was a million degrees here this summer too. They give you a reminder text about your appointment the day before if you want it. And I had one cut that I decided I just needed more taken off and they handled it like pros. I've had a lot of bad haircuts so I'm pretty critical of stylists but there really isn't anything I don't like about this place.

I would recommend that anyone with ANY type of curly hair go to Lacy. She is soooo amazing! Originally, I saw a curl-girl's hair that looked awesome and she suggested I try Lacy. I was NOT disappointed. I have recommended her to my sister (who has tight curls like me) and several other women with curly hair, and each one of them have personally thanked me, as well as refuse to go anywhere else in the Metroplex for haircuts. Lacy has almost exclusively curly haired customers for a reason, she's great. She also has curly hair and understands it well. From long (my usual cut) to short (my recent cut) she always does a great job. Worth EVERY penny. Seriously.
