After bouncing around to stylists for years, I've finally found someone who I can go back to over and over again and get the same quality and consistency in great hair cuts!  Dianne is beyond thorough with her curly hair knowledge and education.  She is up to date on all things curly.  I love the cozy and personal setting that she works in.  She is a great communicator and makes sure that you are happy with her services.  Over the last few years my cuts have all been top notch.  They last and last, holding their shape as my hair grows out.  I tend to wait a bit too long in between cuts, and I can get away with it with Dianne's expert styling ;)  I leave with the cut I expected and hoped for every time.  I'd recommend her for any curl type, don't hesitate to book, she's worth it!

I have been seeing Dianne for about a year (since April 2014). After my wedding I decided to go in for "The Big Chop" and I really wanted to try a Deva stylist. I found Dianne through naturallycurly.com. She had great reviews and was close enough to me (about 1.5 hours).

My first time to see her, I was really nervous and I had no idea what to expect. She listened to what I had to say about my hair and gave me exactly what I asked for, a first for me!

The second time I saw her I wanted to go shorter. I came out with a shorter cut and it was fabulous!

This third time I went to see Dianne, I was over it! I wanted my hair even shorter. I just don't want it to touch my shoulders- is what I told her. And you know what, this is the best my hair has ever looked in my adult life. I adore it. I have bangs that are curly and I love it! (I once had a stylist tell me she wouldn't give me bangs because my hair was curly). Let me tell you, I look great with curly bangs.

I would highly recommend Dianne to anyone seeking a fabulous stylist. She's friendly, she's kind, she knows what she's doing, and best of all- she actually listens to what I want and gives it to me!

Thank you Dianne!!!

I am an extreme case of abundant, bone dry, curly, died, humongous, difficult, puffy, frizzy, blonde, broken, split, bleached hair. Dianne gave me the first and only hair cut of my life that I have ever loved. She knows her stuff backwards and forwards. She is an expert. She spent 2 hours with my hair and knows more about it and can advise on how to manage it better than me. I am not exaggerating. I have had curly girl cuts and and cheap cuts before and I have tried every product in the book. But always felt I was in the dark and just accepted I would never control or fully be comfortable with my hair. This is until I met and fell in love with the the skills and styling of Dianne. I can't thank her enough. I am so lucky to have met her and Im just hoping she will stay in this city and cut my hair from now on.

I can think of 5 or 6 times when people have actually gone out of their way to get next to me, let me know how much they like my curls, and ask about my hair.  I always tell them about Dianne because she's a godsend. If you are anywhere near San Francisco, find out for yourself!

Dianne is a curly hair artist. I arrived at her salon with sad excuse for hair (read: my split ends had split ends) and, with a chipper attitude, went straight to work. We discussed my ideal haircut and then she began snipping and shaping my hair. She has phenomenal attention to detail and shared information details about curly hair and the idiosyncrasies of my hair.

After my Deva cut, Dianne showed me how to optimize my curls with proper styling and clip technique. She used products that I already had (Deva one condition and ultra defining styling gel) rather than trying to sell me new ones.

After the cut and demonstration of how to style my hair, Dianne and I spent an enjoyable amount of time making videos of my new haircut (because I was and still am ENTHUSIASTIC about the result).

I highly recommend Dianne. She is not only a charismatic individual, but also a skilled stylist. I want to shout her praises to random people on the street, but I'll just use the internet. Visit her! She is worth the trip.

As someone with curly (3B/C) hair, I have been to many stylists over the years, and I have to say that Dianne is the best. She really understands and studies curly hair, and her very informative web site shows that. She also is a great listener and truly takes the time to hear what you have to say about your hair. I have been to her twice now. The first time I went, she had to correct the very weird cut that had been inflicted on me by a previous stylist. I had never had my hair cut dry before, and I think it makes a huge difference in the quality of the cut. The second time I went (a couple of days ago), four months had passed since my original cut. My hair still looked really good, and just needed some shaping and trimming to look even better than the first time. I have never been able to go that long between cuts which shows what a good cut it was to start with. I am now a true believer in not only dry cutting for my hair, but a true believer in Dianne as well!

The atmosphere in the salon is very relaxing and has zero pretension. Dianne is very focused on making my hair look its best. What more could a person want?!

I wanted a big change - a super short, asymmetrical change. I knew that if I went to a cheaper hair salon or one without a stylist who knew curly hair, it would likely end up a disaster. So I looked up stylists here and emailed Dianne. Getting my hair cut by Dianne was wonderful. She took the time to listen to me and what I wanted, and having someone with experience with curly hair and its wiley ways was invaluable. I had a great time even though the appointment ran long, she was super nice and fun to talk to, and I am so glad I booked an appointment with her! It was totally worth the money!

Whoa - my hair looked fabulous - and not just the day Dianne worked her magic. For me, the difference was in how the cut grew out - the dry cut held its shape perfectly and was incredibly easy to take care of. I refer to my first haircut with Dianne as my "life-changing haircut." And I'm not kidding! For the first time, I regularly wear my hair down; I feel glamorous; and my hair's full potential has been unleashed :) I found Dianne after years of trying different curly hair specialists--I even went to the fancy Devachan salon in SoHo, New York--and the haircut I got from Dianne was WAY better. I have been to her twice--my second haircut was equally fantastic. Dianne truly listens and hears what you want and makes sure she understands, plus she is not afraid to offer her expert advice on what will look best. Dianne is far and away the more gifted, professional and superb stylist whom I have encountered. And she has a lovely and low-key manner; it's a delight to be her client. So, in short, I highly recommend Dianne. Go see her and you'll also get a life-changing haircut :)

After reading all the rave reviews for Dianne, I booked my first-ever dry cut. Wow! She really knows her stuff. I'm new to seriously curly hair - mine got VERY curly over a few months - and I couldn't figure out how to handle it. Dianne knew exactly what to do with my 2C hair: the perfect cut, the right products, and a clear expectation of how to use them. My hair looked perfect for 5 straight days after that cut, and when I wash and style it myself I can go at least 4 days w/o a wash. I love my new hair and so does my family. Even my clients comment on it. Like most curly women I've had my share of TERRIBLE cuts. It's Dianne's dry cuts for me from here on in. I'm so grateful for her!

I have to begin by saying I HATE to get my hair cut and have had nearly waist length hair for most of my life. Every time I'd think to go shorter, I'd get either one great cut and then several awful ones or would end up looking like a poodle. So, going to Dianne when I moved to San Francisco was a pretty anxious experience. To make a long story short- she is terrific, Nice and fun and good music in the background. Takes time and studies you and your hair to figure out what would suit both the hair and the client. Does a fabulous and meticulous job in the cutting and the styling afterwards, and gives great advice re products and hair care. And the result is amazing- my hair and I have never looked better. Furthermore, I have voted with my feet- I go back, I keep it in shape with regular trims/cuts, and enjoy it (no one would believe I'd really say this, but it is true!!) I'd recommend her to anyone, no reservations and lots of enthusiasm!

The products and routine she recommended are working beautifully. I have absolutely no hairstyling capabilities and now that Dianne has cut my hair even I can manage to do my hair so that, in the words of a friend seeing my new 'do for the first time, I "look like [I] just stepped out of the salon." I had my hair cut just before Christmas, and at the annual family get together, my cousins, aunts, and EVEN MY MOM commented: You look...wow! You look so elegant. Your hair is amazing - what did you do? Where did you go? My mom even went to Dianne to get her hair cut and loved the result (Mom is a tough customer). The family hair is becoming a family affair at Dianne's. I feel gorgeous.

Even though I had read all of Dianne's reviews here, I was still nervous walking into her salon for my first Deva cut last week. I have gone to the same stylist for 38 years (yes, you read that correctly), and I have always worn my hair in a one-length bob that varies from super short to about chin length. The style has worked well for me, but over the past few years, I have been pining for the curly hair I had as a child. I thought it was gone forever... until I walked into Dianne's studio! Dianne is an amazing stylist. She took her time in studying my hair, cutting it dry and styling it. She talked me through the entire process and taught me about curly-hair products and how to use them. I had a terrible experience with layers years ago, and have stayed far away from them ever since, so for me, getting a Deva cut was a radical move. And even though I was VERY happy with the results, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the same look at home. Was I ever wrong! Because of Dianne's talent, my hair looks great AND is super-easy to maintain. For me to be this thrilled with a haircut that is so different from anything I have ever had is a testament to Dianne's skill. I would recommend Dianne Nola to anyone looking for a specialist in curly hair. Dianne is simply the best! I was terrified to have my hair cut. Usually when I do I end up going home and fixing it. Which leads to more cutting, which leads to my hair not growing very much and it already takes a long time for it to grow at all. Most people don't know how to cut my hair. I have very fine 3b hair. My hair was a disaster when I went to see Dianne. She spent 2 1/2 hours with me!!! I couldn't believe it! And the cut was so cute. It was almost maintenance free. I spend less time with my hair now and less blow drying time! But most importantly, I had no desire to "fix' it. I even looked hard to see if there was anything out of sorts with the cut and nothing. It's been about 2 weeks now and still no need for fixing! Dianne is a true gem!
