This place is popular for straight Asian-type hair. However, if you have thick course wavy hair, like a 2B-2C, I recommend Paul. He doesn't use razor scissors, and he uses this awesome Edward Scissorhand's style scissor tool from Japan to help remove bulk & add awesome layers. I'm not certain about his experience with people who have curly hair like a 3a and beyond, but for the 2a-2c range, he's great. It's not a fancy salon, no website, and English is his 2nd language, which does not bother me- all that said, he was recommended by a trusted friend, and I, in turn trust Paul. I'm willing to drive to the Inner Richmond district just to have him cut my hair, especially since he cuts it so that I don't have to constantly get it cut all the time.
