Stylist: Response to review by Sarah
Sorry for those who have been misguided by Sarah's 1 start review. We always write down summaries for each client and she also wrote the same review on our yelp page. This is the same response that we posted on there too. Basically this client came in saying she knew everything about a curly haircut and wanted one. SHE chose to cut off 10 inches and then clearly later regretted it even though she left the salon saying she loved it. I have no reason to chop off all her hair if she didn't want it cut off. We cut the hair based off of the consultation of the client. Also, if you are wearing you hair curly, why would you want to straighten it to see if it's straight. Cleary the haircut is cut for how your curls naturally are. If you wanted a straight line you would of done a basic haircut and not a curly cut. Some people can never be accountable for their own choices and would rather blame someone else for what they requested. Rather than contacting the salon she rather start a smear campaign saying I gave her a bad haircut when she asked for a Deva Cut. I was baffled by the review since she said she loved it when she left. I've been a Deva stylist for over 8 years and have a loyal Deva following and will not let this person ruin it for people who are looking for someone to help them with their curls. Thanks for reading my response. Hi Sarah, Just to to clear things up, you chose a Deva Cut and its a haircut best meant for people who wear their hair naturally curly (which you said you do). You also mentioned that you had a Ouidad haircut before and wanted to try out the Deva cut because you had starte****g their products along with livingproof. The Deva cut does not translate when wearing it straight because your hair is cut in its dry curly state. If you want a haircut that looks best straight then we would of chosen to do a normal haircut and not a Deva cut. The deva product promote hydration and the more hydrated your hair gets then the more bouncy they could be an shrinkage could occur. In no way is it a perming your hair or making any permanent changes that would require you to have brazillian straightening done on it. During our consultation you mentioned that you wanted a more professional looking haircut and thats why you decided to cut off 10 inches. If you wanted just a trim we would of done just that. All my clients know that I'm not a person who gets scissor happy. I'm always willing to work with my clients to get them to a look that they want, even if it means keeping some dead ends. It doesn't bother me. So I'm not sure why you would say that its too short when it was so****ing that you decided on. I'm actually pretty confused by this review and sorry that I'm responding to it late because we don't check yelp as often.

Had a terrible experience here getting a Devacut. My hair was pretty and long and had less shrinkage due to the weight. When she was done cutting, my hair felt a bit lopsided and short but I figured I would go home and see how I felt. After a few days unfortunately I am still so heartbroken that I got my haircut by her. She did not listen to the fact that I said my hair would shrink more as it got shorter and ended up giving me a bob cut when I asked for little length be taken off. I literally can not put my hair up in a ponytail tail. After straightening it to see the cut, it looked like someone when wild with jagged scissors everywhere and had pieces that were extremely long compared to the rest of the cut. Worst service I have ever had.
