I have been to Tanya's 3 times and all 3 times I have had great service. My two sisters also go there often as they have short cuts that need more maintenance. Not only does Tanya's have friendly staff but the owner is always around to offer HER service. The waiting area is great with beverages and snacks and real dishes, not plastic ware! Rachel B. has cut my hair the last 2 times I have been and I am very happy with her. The first time was just a couple inches off my long curly hair (type 3b) and just today I took the plunge and had about 9 inches cut off! Rachel looked at the pictures I brought in and then looked over my hair while it was dry to see if my hair would respond to the cut I wanted. She said yes and I said lets do it. I am impressed with her methods and completely trust her judgment. I will continue to go to her because my hair turned out fantastic. Just exactly what I wanted!

No offense but this girl has no idea how to cut curly hair. She used a conditioner loaded with silicones and tried to razor my hair. This is in response to a positive review I read here.

I'm twenty-eight years old and have tried every product, method, and hairstyle to tame my naturally curly hair. Not only that, but I am black, white, and puerto rican so my hair isn't coarse, but very curly. Since Rachel B. started cutting my hair, it's never looked better. For the first time EVER I'm embracing and loving my curly hair. Not only does she give a fantactic cut, but she gave me amazing styling and maintenance tips that I use on a daily basis. And if you want a great blow out for the day, she can do that too! She's adorable, has a gorgeous head of hair herself, and is great company while she's doing your hair. Go see Rachel at Tanya's on Hyde Park Square- pricing is reasonable and WELL woth it!
