How to Help Your Hair Survive in a Dry, Hot Climate

For this look, I used Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil line. First, I shampooed then deep conditioned under a hooded dryer for 30 minutes. I detangled before rinsing this out.
After rinsing out the deep conditioner, I used a tshirt to soak up excess water and separated my hair into 4 sections.
To each section, I added the leave in conditioner, an oil mix (jojoba, coconut, and a few others), and the styling lotion.
Taking smaller sections, I braided each adding a grey perm rod to the ends. After completing all sections, I sat under the hooded dryer for 45 minutes to ensure my hair would be dry in the morning. I slept in a satin bonnet and on a satin pillowcase.
In the morning, I removed the perm rods and added Shea Moisture's Raw Shea Butter Reconstructive Finishing Elixir to my hands to prevent frizz. I separated the braids, shook my head a little and used a pick to fluff and style.
