Detangle! I use DevaCurl's Wash Day Wonder to detangle this mane on wash day... I use a good palmful and use my fingers to detangle the bigger knots
then when it is detangled enough I use a wide-tooth comb to detangle the rest.
I wash my hair upside down with DevaCurl's No-Poo Original. I massage this into my roots for a couple of minutes to stimulate hair growth
well... It feels pretty good.
Squish to condish
y'all. I condition with DevaCurl's One Condition Original by scrunching into my hair with my head upside down.
No towels here! When I turn the water off
I flip my head upside down (shocker) and squish the excess water out by scrunching
but I don't squish out too much! I like my hair to be soaking wet when I put in all that product.
I start creating the beast with DevaCurl's B-Leave In Miracle Curl Plumper
because my hair is naturally very thin and flat. This product is by far my favorite
and I won't style my hair without it. I use several pumps and apply this product... You guessed it... Upside down (lol) starting by scrunching it into my ends and working my way up to my roots.
Next I use DevaCurl's Wave Maker. Although my hair has more curls than waves
I find this product really adds texture and helps with volume. I scrunch this product into my hair upside down on my ends only.
Now for the gel.. Dun dun DUNNN so suspenseful. I use a HEAPIN' amount of DevaCurl's Arc AnGEL. I use a pump for each section of my hair
from roots to ends. I squish this upwards scrunching my curls until I see ringlets form
and I scrunch scrunch scrunch until I can't scrunch no mo'. All while my head is upside down.
Before I begin the drying process
I spray the crown of my hair
while it is still upside down
with DevaCurl's Curl Maker spray gel. I don't use too much here--just enough to spray around my hairline to add a little more lift when it dries.
Now for the drying process... This is the longest step of my hair routine
and undoubtedly the most boring. I dry my hair with a round diffuser
on the lowest heat/power setting
upside down. I lay on my floor and diffuse my hair like this for ABOUT an hour. It's terrible. But I only have to do this once every three days
so it could be worse. I diffuse until my hair is completely dry. Once my hair is dry is the fun part... FLUFFING! I play with my hair aggressively for about ten minutes just fluffing it out. Most of my volume actually comes after fluffing.
I'm sorry I don't think I mentioned that I do all of this upside down... ;)
