Avlon KeraCare Natural Textures Twist and Define Cream

Jul 17, 2014 - Great for twist, as a moisturizer and definition. Great smell as well!

Cantu Shea Butter Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream

Jul 17, 2014 - So many great reviews led me to try this. This product is VERY oily so you only need a dime sized amount for a couple of strands of hair. It will curl your hair instantly, but my experience had my hair become hard after it dried. I thought it wasn't working well and didn't bother with it after a couple of days. What I realized was that I needed to finger roll my hair twice-- once with the curl activator and then again once it's completely dry. Every curl I did that with became very soft (although not as shiny as I would like- they looked more 4th day then 1st day). It possibly works well with their curling cream (which I never opened

ORS Curls Unleashed Shea Butter & Honey Curl Defining Crème

Jul 17, 2014 - When I first big chopped, this worked OK for me because there wasn't much hair to finger roll, I just needed something to define and moisturize my very curly hair. However, when going through the changes of such a big change with a BC, some products that worked at one phase, may not work in the next. My hair grows extremely fast & as I begin to approach 1 month, with much bigger curls and more hair, this product really weighed my hair down making it very defined, but very hard. I will say, with a short cut it is AWESOME with the Leave In Conditioner as a cocktail if you're all about definition and not necessarily the softness of the curl. I realize the heat of where I am located could also play a part, but the products I've returned to )Shea Moisture) have yet to fail me. This was a try out just to do something different. So maybe for the very beginning of a very low cut, yes--but for my type of hair, it can get defined yet crunchy and hard as hair grows in.
