Sep 03, 2013 - I kind of expected a little better of this product, since my hair responded decently to the Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo. My experience is another though. It really doesn't make my hair softer, or more define my curls any better. It does a good job cleansing my hair, but I feel like any other shampoo could do that for a cheaper price. It smells good, and a little goes a long way, but other than that I don't feel it's anything special.

Sep 03, 2013 - I purchased this for $5.99 at walmart, and for a sulfate-free, paraben-free shampoo I thought it was an excellent price! My initial experience was wonderful! I felt it was cleansing and left my curls define and soft! After a few uses however, it felt like my hair got use to this product and it wasn't working the same. It did continue to do a good job detangling my hair, but it did leave frizz. It smells delicious though! It also continued to do a decent job cleansing my hair. I think that for the inexpensiveness of this product it does a decent job, but it still has a handful of chemicals that probably exhausted my hair, I still like this brand, I just don't think I'll be repurchasing this particular shampoo. Oh the joys of exploration.
Jan 14, 2013 - Although I sincerely wanted to like this shampoo, I could not. So many things that dissatisfied me, where to begin? Well the first problem was the texture of this product, it was so hard to get it to my hand and from my hand to my hair, it always felt like there was NEVER enough shampoo in my hair for it to be properly washed. Then it kept tangling my hair up, which I didn't know was possible of a shampoo. It took FOREVER to completely rinse out and the worst part about that was that it was left tangled, extremely dry, and it gave my hair the texture and feel of a fishing line. I liked the smell, that's it and it's an OK price, a little too much for what it's REALLY worth, but I've bought more expensive. I'm FOREVER STAYING AWAY from this line. I like a lot of L'Oreal's products, but this isn't one of them.

Dec 25, 2014 -
When I first found Alex I thought he was wonderful, he had his own glamorous salon in downtown Chula Vista, he cut the right amount off, he was a lot more accessible. After years of suffering at the hands of hairdressers I felt safe. I even gave him an excellent review on this website almost four years ago. Lets fast forward to December 2014 and talk about him NOW. After having to give up his salon and rent a chair at Shear Envy Salon Boutique (which is gorgeous btw) you can really feel his personality. Now that I've been going with him for almost a decade, because I've been going to him since 2008, I realize he is a DIVA! Mind you he was an official make-up artist at the Cannes Film Festival but that does NOT excuse his behavior lately. For starters he is NO LONGER ACCESSIBLE towards the customer, it was either get the haircut when he said or not to get it at all. So because of Christmas I was a little late and he was SO UPSET. He left me in the sink for 20 MINUTES while he went and cut someone else's hair, which doesn't bother me at all, it could bother me less. What really upsets me about him at this moment is that he did what he wanted to with my hair. I asked for him to cut off about 3 and a half inches and what does he do? HE CUT OFF ALMOST A FOOT! My hair use to be slightly above my waist CURLY! And now it's slightly below my shoulders FLAT IRONED! I don't even want to know what it's gonna look like when I wash it and get shrinkage. I cannot pass a reflection without crying! I cannot believe him! Now if you're ok with someone telling you when to cut your hair, how to cut you hair, leave you in the sink for almost half an hour and take as much hair off as they like simply to be able to say you got your hair cut by a Cannes Film Festival Make-up Artist then to each their own but I AM DONE WITH HIM! Moving forward in life he's not the only person who can cut curly hair in San Diego.
Sep 03, 2013 - This salon is beautiful! From the stencil patterns on the walls to the portrait of Marilyn Monroe, not to mention the wine bar ;) It's décor is overall feminine and the furniture is very urbane. Now down to the haircut and styling! Let me begin by saying that I loved the end result, it was exactly what I wanted, however I cannot give it a full five for a rating because I felt my stylist took too long. It took three hours for her to completely cut and style my hair since she had another customer, and I feel it was extremely pricey, and I feel like my hair isn't growing as fast since I cut it there. Overall I don't regret going because it was a good hair cut and I got the big fluffy curls style I wanted, but I can't say personally I have the time or money to go back.

May 22, 2011 - In all my years of living in the South Bay area this is the only stylist i've come across who can properly cut and style curly hair. Most stylist in this area are use to straight or chemically altered hair so when it come to dealing with curly hair they do a half-hearted job (in my experience). Alex doesn't only know how to cut naturally curly hair but he also has extensive knowledge on the proper care and the types of products that should be used by people with curly hair. Ever since he started cutting my hair i've noticed that it started growing in more healthy and beautifully (which means a lot to me because i've had a lot of damage due to relaxers, REALLY bad highlights, and crappy haircuts), it's actually because i started noticing these changes in my hair that i decided to go natural. The salon itself itself is very modern and welcoming, so chic! AND! it's located in one of the most glamorous streets in the South Bay - 3rd Avenue. The salon has soooo many products to choose from, a variety of makeup and nail polish, and best of all sooo MANY cute accessories! I've been going to Jade by Alex for four years now and i highly recommend it! it's a bit pricey but WELL WORTH IT! trust me! And in my experience my hair grows in very neatly, I will never ever let another stylist cut my hair! So if you're in the South Bay Area and need a haircut (no matter how damaged your hair is, and trust me my hair WAS DAMAGED!), you should try this salon out, you'll love it! i guarantee it!
