Aug 24, 2013 - This product is my HG. I am not a gel person. I hate the way most gels feel and I'm not a huge fan of scrunching out the crunch. I will say I am limited by an allergy to aloe, so while I have tried many gels, I haven't tried the ones with aloe. Many gels are labeled as light to medium hold, like CJ Pattern Pusha or Kiss My Face Upper Management, but I've found them quite crunchy and difficult/rough to apply. One of the gels I had the best results with was CJ Curls in a Bottle, but the polyquat build up was horrible. This gel aids with clumping and curl definition, but it is a lot more difficult to over do and it rinses very clean. I can be very casual in application and it doesn't tug or pull at my hair. It doesn't dry my hair out. It doesn't flake or decrease shine. It's a solid product. The only downside is it has a very soapy smell. It does dry to smell like nothing though. It would take quite an amazing product to get me away from this. If you purchase it at Rite Aid, it's less than $4. It's hard to beat that price.

Aug 04, 2013 - This is my favorite cleanser thus far. In general hair cleansers don't get me nearly as excited as conditioner, but over time this one really impressed me.I used to use the Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Conditioner, but it gave me frizzy hair the first day of using it, so if I washed my hair twice a week I would have at least two bad hair days. I'm not sure if it was just too strong of a cleanser or if the avocado oil made my hair frizzy. I tried co-washing, but it doesn't work for my low porosity, build up prone hair. This shampoo lightly cleanses my hair, leaving it soft and less tangled. It also lasts forever. I'm about a 1/3 of the way through the bottle and bought it in May. I do shake mine before using, because I have noticed the separation others have described here. It has a very watery consistency that makes it easy to distribute. I usually let it run down my fingers, then use my finger tips to apply it directly to my scalp. After I massage my scalp, I add more water and let the suds rinse down my hair.
Aug 04, 2013 - This has to be the slippiest product I've ever used! Far more than Kinky Curly Knot Today. Slip in my rinse out is important, but I actually think it's more important in my leave in. If I've detangled my hair in the shower, I want it to stay that way to preserve clumping. It keeps my hair moisturized, but it's light enough on the oils not to weigh my fine, low porosity hair down. It has a lotion consistency, as the name implies. I used to use this product alone, but as my hair has gotten longer I've needed a gel over it. It work well under gel, I think in part because of how light it is. I've tried other leave-ins, especially cheaper ones :p, but nothing compares. I've used this product since March 2013.
