Kinky-Curly Curling Custard

Mar 03, 2013 - When I first used this product, I was AMAZED! I super-soaked my hair, used a leave-in, and then scrunched in some KCCC. The clumps were amazing and held up fr a long time. When about 4 hours passed, I scrunched out the crunch... but my hair was still damp as heck! I quickly learned that this stuff provides great clumping, because it locks in water, which also increases drying time by a LOT. I was very disappointed, because I don't want to walk around all day with damp hair. It appears flat and the whirls are heavier, which end up elongating over time. For the amount of ingredients it contains, and for what it does, it is NOT worth this much money! I loved the initial results, so I am currently experimenting with ways to get this stuff to work without the soaking head of hair. Not super-soaking my hair and squeezing water out of it makes prone to frizz quicker and by the time I'm done applying KCCC, I have broken up clumps and some stringy waves. Its a little frustrating, but I'm fool enough to keep trying after I've had a taste of the clumping greatness. What else am I gonna do with a jar full of it anyway?

Curly Kinks Satin Roots Natural Leave-In Detangler

Mar 03, 2013 - I actually thought this was BETTER than KCKT. Reasons? Well, it actually feels more moisturizing, for one. I'm guessing its the avocado oil in this. I do admit that KCNT has more slip, and this is more on the creamy side, but it worked really well for me. I have a dense, thick head of hair and found it easier to distribute this product when applied to soaking wet hair. It works great when pair up with KCCC or KC Coil Jam. Bonus: It has a light marshmallow-y scent, not overpowering at all!

Curly Kinks Coil Jam Natural Styling Gel

Mar 03, 2013 - This is is kind of like KCCC. Kind of. While it doesn't promote clumping as well as KCCC, it most definitely drys faster. I find that it clumps better when scrunched into soaking wet hair, something I can't do with KCCC, because of the absurdly long drying times. It provides much better hold than DC Light defining gel, and yet I do not need to scrunch out the crunch! It also has a light pleasant scent, which is a plus for people with sensitive noses. The best part? If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to KCCC, I say give this a try!
