Nov 27, 2010 - I was very excited for my haircut with Carmen after reading all of the reviews, however I was disappointed. After my cut my 3a hair was still flat and heavy on top. My previous hairstylist hand cut layers (piecing) in my hair, but Carmen only trimmed the bottom. Definitely too expensive for just a trim! My cut was $55. She listened to me but then she told me everything I was doing wrong. I already had a great grasp on working with my hair and i know what works and what doesn't. Warning: if you go to Carmen DONT ask her to straighten your hair. I usually love getting my hair blown straight at my haircut because it's a nice change that I never do myself, but Carmen is definitely opposed to changing the natural wave of your hair. But then I would ask why they dye hair at the salon?? Carmen is very knowledgeable and has some good ideas, but my hair and personality just doesn't mesh with her. Good luck!
