Apr 07, 2015 - I have 2c, coarse, low porosity, normal elasticity and low-med density hair. I purchased this since I could only purchase the 2 bottles left of my HG Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner on iHerb to lessen the shipping fee. I've read rave reviews about this, although I also read that the new formula is nowhere as good as the old one. I use only one conditioner to cowash, as RO and LI. Multiple products gives me headache. I usually use a mousse with -cones that requires at least cetrimonium chloride to wash out with cowash, but I've been busting out my DIY okra gel. Now, that gel is a real test. That's my first attempt on DIY hair styler with a lot of hold. I did get a lot hold, but it makes my hair so hard and crunchy as heck. Fortunately for me, mixing it with conditioner, ergo turning it into a hair styling cream, actually turns it into a great styling product for my wavy hair. This conditioner cleans my scalp nicely and leaves my (wet) hair feeling silky (lots of slip), also gives my hair the body it needs. But despite of baptismal rinsing and putting some back into my hair as LI, my dry hair (I air-dry) still feels a bit rough. Granted, I've been neglecting pre-wash oil treatment and hair mask for quite a while now, but it doesn't happen with my regular standby: Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner and The Body Shop Banana Conditioner. Smoothing a dab of oil resolves the issue somewhat, but it doesn't feel as soft as with the other 2 mentioned. It still does clump my waves nicely, though. So I guess I'll just be using it up and praying to the universe that iHerb and/or Vitacost will restock the Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner again. I originally would rate this product 3.5 at best. But since I see quite a bit potential to make it workable without too much effort, guess I can be generous to round it up. I may repurchase, but it's definitely not a staple.

Dec 10, 2014 - My hair properties are coarse, low porosity, normal elasticity, low density. The product doesn't dry crunchy. It makes my curls soft and touchable and quite well defined. It's quite lightweight and pretty emollient on its own, but I haven't tried it without LI, although I do use less. My hair looks shiny and the curls bouncy but it does have soft hold, so I definitely can't go past 2 days or stand outside on a windy day. I also get good volume and fullness with this, and it doesn't look producty. However, I easily experience buildup so I have to clarify more often. The smell isn't exactly offensive to me, but I don't really enjoy it either. It sometimes smell nice and sometimes like puke. It's a decent curly hair product and fairly cheap, although in the higher spectrum of cheap. But it's nothing amazing for my hair, not CG-safe and not available on ground for me. Now I just have to bear with it to use it up, which will take a while since I only need a pea size for my short hair. Or until someone is willing to take it off my hand. P.S.: I have this on my hair on my profile picture.
Nov 06, 2014 - My hair properties are coarse, low porosity, normal elasticity, low density. It dries a tad crunchy, but it's easy to shake off and SOTC without triggering any frizz which has always been a problem for me with SOTC. And it's fall now, which is very wet in this part of the world. My hair feels super soft and lightweight. It's shiny but doesn't look producty. I get great definitions, real springy bouncy full head of curls. The curls are uniformly defined, big fat clumps of curls. I also get good volume and fullness with this, like I naturally have a lot of hair. It's quite conditioning on its own so I can use my cheapie CO as RO/LI. The combo is my frugal staple. At first, I thought I have problems with -cones building up on my scalp, but I no longer have the problem as long as I clarify once every one or two weeks. The reason why I knocked off one star is because I'm not entirely convinced that it works that well in high humidity for me.
