Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha - Hair Styling Gel

Dec 08, 2011 - I was so excited for this that I sold my bottle of CIAB to justify buying another styler. Unfortunately it didn't work as well as I'd hoped. It did hold and define the curl but my hair seemed messier and much more frizz prone with it, and my hair rarely frizzes in winter. Individual hairs on the canopy were frizzing up and bending every which way. Also *and this is just personal to me* I found the cucumber melon scent pleasant in the jar, but strong in my hair. So strong that it took two co-washes with Daily Fix to get it out. It was something I would have learned to deal with if I loved everything else about it. Maybe in a different climate I would have had better luck--I live in the Denver area which is cold and dry right now. I ended up selling it and buying another bottle of CIAB. Lesson learned.

Curl Junkie Coffee-Coco Curl Creme Lite

Nov 19, 2011 - I got some great curls with this alone. They started to initially form into a perfect pattern and then really coiled up when when I diffused. This makes the hair feel conditioned while its wet but then you feel some hold kick in as it dries. The result is a lot of softness and shine, and it really doesn't seem to weigh the hair down. It will be interesting to see how it works as a refresher. However, because of all the butters in it, I am a little concenered about build up and eventual weight so I plan to alternate CIAB which seems to give similar results, and I want to try them in a combo as well. Nice coconut smell, similar to the new Curl Fix.

Curl Junkie BeautiCurls Strengthening Conditioner

Nov 19, 2011 - This one is has an overall five curl rating for a reason. Its an amazing conditioner. One quarter sized blob through my just shorter that APL hair of medium thickness is all I need for unbelievable slip. It leaves the hair soft, but the protein in it gives some structure and it really does seem to tighten up the curl. The very floral scent is a little stronger than I would like and it does seem to linger a bit. Its not offensive, though.Just remember to use this one sparingly because its concentrated stuff.

The Station Hair Studio - Denver, Colorado, United States

Oct 01, 2014 -

I heard about the station from here and these great reviews and really needed to fix a bad haircut that I had. I was lucky that I was able to get in and see Jeanna within a few days. I decided to have my hair cut into a stacked bob and Jeanna did a great job shaping the cut that I wanted, while explaining her process during the cut.

Through out the washing and styling process, Jeanna explained every step and showed me how much product to use. She also showed me where to place the clips to enhance the shape of my haircut. Usually after getting my hair cut I don't like how it is styled, but not this time, my hair looked great and it has been easy to recreate to style at home. The salon itself was very nice--modern look, friendly staff, and a peaceful atmosphere.

Studio K - Lakewood, Colorado, United States
Kristy Koppman

May 12, 2011 - I heard about Kristy from this site, and I'm glad I did. She really knows what she is doing and she takes an almost sculptural approach to curly hair, carefully cutting into the bulk to separate every curl. She is also very respectful of the CG method and actually asked me if I shampooed so she could "wash" my hair accordingly. All in all it was a good experience and the cut gave my waves and curls a bounciness I hadn't seen in awhile.
