Apr 13, 2011 - I’ve been in Atlanta for four month and I was in desperate need of a colorist. A co-worker recommended Curltopia - she said you must see Giselle! After reviewing the website, I was shocked at the prices. I lived in Dallas for eight years and I never paid so much for touch up color on my locks - $70. For that price, my locks should have been pinned up or crinkled when I walked out of the door! And I know, you pay for what you get - but I was charged an additional $10 because she had to mix more color to cover my roots - REALLY! This isn't my first time coloring my locks so I know this wasn't the case. I was only getting a touch up not my entire head of locks colored. When I looked into the mixing bowl, there was still a lot of color left over - why not run the remaining color throughout my other locks to blend it even more OR tint my eyebrows. I’ve already paid for the additional color. Oh, but wait - that would have cost more because that would have been considered coloring my entire head and not a touch up. I get it - you are running a business ... but you don't have to nickel and dime the customers. If you provide professional service, they will come back. I just felt blind sided by the additional cost. I am not sure if I’ll be back for color ... BUT Giselle did an awesome job matching my color ... I enjoyed her so much - very professional and she knows natural hair. I will see her again for my loc maintenance. Curltopia is a very chic and welcoming place. The staff is very nice and friendly. But their prices for some services will shock you!
