Apr 15, 2015 - After I wash my hair, it doesn't like to be refreshed with water-based spritzes (I use Qhemet Biologics moisturizers and they work really well, yes, the burdock root is water-based, but I use it when my curls are overstretched to make them shrink. Plus, I am talking about the ease of a spritz). I've tried everything. I've even tried to mix one up myself. My hair just frizzes and shrivels up. This is the first product that I've been able to use with good results. This is a really good canopy refresher. Sometimes my canopy loses moisture faster than the hair underneath, so I separate the canopy from the hair underneath with alligator clips. Then I saturate the canopy in parts, and gently run my fingers through to distribute the product and define curls. This is a key step because it will not work if you don't saturate your hair in parts, and then define. I leave the clips in until the top is 85-90% dry. After I remove the clips, I fluff all of the hair together. This is the only Shea Moisture product I've used that actually works for me. Unlike other reviewers, I do not like the scent, so I spritz with a little bit of nicely scented shine spray before fluffing. More importantly, if your scalp is sensitive, DO NOT get this stuff on your scalp! It will itch like crazy, and then you will have to wash your hair. (4a)

Jun 29, 2013 - I was really hesitant to try this product line, but I have been looking for a sulfate-free cleanser that didn't irritate my scalp for so long, I decided to give it a try. The main reason I decided to try it is because of the ingredient Piroctone Olamine. This ingredient is really effective at cleansing debris from the scalp, and hair loss recovery. In other words, this cleanser works without stripping the hair and, unlike the average co-wash, it cleanses the scalp for real. Further, this formula is balanced with cleansing and moisturizing agents. It's not super moisturizing, so I still used a conditioner to detangle (Tresemme Naturals). I will definitely rotate this with the Terressentials mud wash, which is more of a deep cleanse. I am a 4a, med/high porosity.
Oct 22, 2011 - I was really hesitant to try the curly pudding because it contains a lot of ingredients I try to stay away from. However, I had been on a healthy ingredient kick for 6 months, and I wasn't getting the results that I wanted. In other words, my hair and scalp were not acting right! I had a sample pack of the curly pudding, decided to try it, and I really like it. My tips are: use on damp, moisturized (over your leave-in), hair--not wet hair. Also, I thought that the scent was pretty strong, so I decided to see if THEY MAKE UNSCENTED and they do!!! So, I ordered that. This is one of those tricky products that you have to figure out how to use on YOUR hair; it will give you "the whites" if you're not careful. I gave this 4 curls because of the ingredients, but I think this will be a keeper! Just in case it doesn't show up on the review, I have 4a hair.
