Avoid using these damaging frizzy-hair remedies at all costs!
Kinky Curly Gloss Pomade
4. A brush
Simple, yet damaging. A brush causes extreme breakage and can cause frizz and poof if you use a brush when your curls are almost dry. No matter what you’re doing tonight, make plans to go through your entire home and get rid of all brushes (unless it’s a Denman brush, which is fine to use for many curlies). If you are going to use anything other than your fingers to detangle, go for a wide-toothed comb. If you need a new best friend, find a good comb to use every time you’re in the shower.
5. Petroleum jelly
Many women use things like Vaseline when to tame their dry and frizzy hair. If you are going to use petroleum you might as well put plastic wrap all over year head. Petroleum keeps out the moisture and inhibits your hair from absorbing the oils it needs to. Instead of turning to Vaseline, try a pomade like Kinky Curly Gloss Pomade.

yup, i’m pretty sure those would be my top 5 as well, although the brush would definitely be #1!

Is it ok for me to use a paddle brush for detangling, or is any brush except the denman brush unacceptable? I have 3c hair
