How to Cure Your Dry, Flaky Scalp

Eliminate dry, flaky scalp problems with these simple tips.

Itchy scalp

If you suffer from an itchy, flaky scalp, washing your hair too little can make the problem worse. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and try washing your hair at least every other day.

Flakes that are left in place also provide a haven to yeasts and bacteria, trapping sebum, hair products, and dust or dirt on your scalp. This is the perfect recipe for a full-blown breakout of dermatitis.

The solution is simple. Just wash the flakes away and rinse thoroughly to keep your scalp happy and itch-free.

So True...I use a sulfate free shampoo which is by shea moisture the organic african black soap deep cleansing shampoo for dry, itchy scalp I shampoo with it twice a week now but when I first start using it I shampooed 3 times a week for 2 1/2 weeks it didnt dry out my hair at all I love that shampoo but I added some more african black soap to it (purchased from Coastal scents).. It works wonders for my scalp and hair :) ..
that's too much shampooing for my hair. fellow curlies suggested i add a little tea tree oil to my cowash and that's much better.
