Patrick is great! There aren't many stylists in Utah who know what to do with curly hair. I've been seeing Patrick for a couple years now and haven't had a bad cut. He is especially good with short curly hair which can be a disaster in the wrong hands. Definitely worth it.

The hair-cut itself was pretty good, but the way the salon made me feel summed up was out of place. They weren't particularly warm or inviting, i felt like people were just kinda uppity and giving me, "what is she doing here?" kinda looks.
The hair-cut process made me feel odd, too. As the one who cut my hair kept looking at it and frowning and picking up pieces of it and making faces. Yeah. No joke. So, in the end, even when the finished product looked pretty good, I felt like s**** about my hair, and just wanted to get the hell out of there.
I don't think I'll go back.

After getting the worst haircut of my life from a salon in Springville (I went in for a trim and to remove a bit of weight and the Springville stylist gave me a mullet. He cut over 6 inches off my shortest layer, leaving me with 2 in curls around my head on top and left just the underneath layer long.), I went to Shep Studio after reading the review on naturallycurly.com. Shep was not available since it was such short notice but Patrick was recommended by the person on the phone as being highly-trained and great with curly hair.
Patrick was great. He understood what I hated about the previous cut, which was important to me since the other stylist tried to defend what he did. I was prepared to go shorter to fix the terrible cut and Patrick agreed that was the best option. He fixed the layers to bring out the best in my curl and gave me a really cute short style.
Even though I was initially not planning to go short, Patrick gave me a great cut and I do really like it now. Considering a week ago I just wanted a trim, this is a great testament to Patrick's skill. He helped me make the best of a less-than-ideal situation and I really like my hair again.
I'm happy to have found a stylist in the area who knows how to handle curly hair.

Shep doesn't specialize in curly hair, but he has done a great job with my curls since I first had him cut my hair about 8 years ago. I just have him do whatever he thinks would be best with my hair--I rarely go in with any special haircut in mind. He will talk to you about what you think is wrong/right with your current cut and then give you a cut to minimize trouble spots and take advantage of the good features of your hair and face shape.

Shep's hair cuts are the best hair cuts I've ever had! And it's hard for me because I have fine curly hair. I have have alot of fine curly hair and he knew how to style it and what products would best benifit my hair. He also worked well with my face shape. He is diverse and very artistic with cutting hair. It's like watching a skilled painter paint! It's just art! I love his cuts!

Shep is a very good hair cutter for all types of hair. He takes his times and really figures out wear your hair grows thicker and if your curls are fine or coarse. He is very artistic with his aproach so he can do some fun modern things for your hair or just what you ask for. He flies all over the country and world to go to Hairstyling conventions to learn more as a beautitian. He's very professional and gives amazing haircuts!
