I felt that Laura really heard my concerns when she gave me a consultation at my first appointment. She recommended several products and a hairstyle, and I felt comfortable enough to have her proceed. I am thrilled with the outcome! Not only does she know hair, she really understands the Ouidad style. She taught me how to use the Ouidad products that were best for my hair. Thank goodness -- a great Ouidad certified stylist here in town! I will be going back.

I love Laura Newton! After many bad experiences elsewhere, I went into the shop and had a consultation with her. She patiently listened to all my concerns, since I have naturally curly hair and am used to dealing with lousy haircuts, and then she recommended the best cut and treatment for my hair. It is PERFECT!! Not only do I have curly hair, I also have impossible-to-control cow licks ... which now are being controlled! My curls lay nicely, and there's no frizz. Thank you, Laura!!

I went to the Rainbow Room because of the glowing reviews on this site. I thought I had gotten some bad haircuts in the past, my whole life really- but this one took the cake. I have a LOT of great wavy/curly hair which most would consider short, but had grown it out for 4 months prior to this cut so there would be more hair to create an actual style. I have always had problems with stylists not giving me a cut with any style or flair and had really hoped to get that at the Rainbow Room.
Instead, I got a very uneven and choppy cut. Curls were cut off or cut halfway through the curl, making some of them stick straight out. I can see the blunt- straight across cut at the bottom of all the "curls". My top was left way too long, giving me the dreaded mushroom head look (in addition to the pieces sticking straight out on the sides). The back bottom layer is uneven and the layer above that has a big chunk cut out on just one side. Also have weird "indentation" spots in some bad places.
My hair is now frizzy, due to the uneven cut. I don't think the Ouidad method was meant to create frizz. I have many different layers and lengths all over- completely disconnected cut. I asked that it be cut so I could wear it straight/blown out also and that is even more of a nightmare than the curly, if that is possible. I now have to pay someone else to fix this cut. I put in a call to the owner of this salon but no call back, hence this review.
For as good as I had heard Brenda was, this was in my top 5 bad haircuts, made worse by the fact it cost $85. I had really high hopes for this, an actual curly cut- by someone who has curly hair----I had gotten a better haircut last summer for $15 and was very disappointed in this experience. It will make me think twice before going by reviews in the future!

Brenda is the best. She has been cutting my hair for a few years now and just keeps getting better and better. I'm 57 and have been fighting natuarally curly hair my whole life; flat ironing, chemically straightening, blow drying and whatever else I could think of to make it straight. Brenda helped me embrace my curls. Since she has been cutting my hair, I have been wearing it naturally curly and loving it. She listens but will also tell you if she thinks your ideas are a mistake for your curl type. She has been right every time. I highly recommend Brenda. She liberated me!!!!

Found Brenda online at the Ouidad site, she is fabulous!! She gave me a Ouidad cut and listened to all of my concerns giving me the best cut for me and she incorporates all of her hair knowledge. I had previously driven to North Carolina to get this cut and had a horribly expensive experiance. Thankfully Brenda is closer to home and truly understands curly hair for she is a curly girl too! The salon is great, it has all of the products you need.

Laura Newton is AWESOME!!! I just saw her for the first time this past Saturday, July 16, 2011, and she did an outstanding job with applying the Ouidad deep conditioning treatment, cut and styling! Laura also has a wonderful personality. I can't believe it took 43 years to finally find a stylist who knows how to cut and style curly hair! I am so glad I went to the Rainbow Room and that Laura Newton was there to help me learn to how to properly style and care for my naturally curly hair! Thank you so much Laura!!!

Tried of the Rosanne Roseannadanna frizz? Does summer humidity make your naturally curly hair more Bozo than bohemian? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, I have a solution for you. Laura Newton knows how to cut, calm and tame your unruly locks without sacrificing sexy body and volume. She's a gem. If you live in the greater Cleveland area and have had nothing but bad luck with stylists who claim to know how to work with curl but really don't, run don't walk to Laura at Rainbow Room. She's the real deal.
