Phyllis owns a private salon studio that is generally by referral only (no sign, no advertisement), but she gave me permission to post her information here since she loves to work with naturally curly hair. Phyllis: "Naturally curly/wavy hair has been my specialty for over 30 years. I have a love of 'sculpting' hair and have Vidal Sassoon training in Europe, NYC, Chicago and LA. Curly/wavy hair is my favorite medium, curly hair always wins! It commands respect for what it wants to do. I trained with Redken for 2 years NYC and in New Orleans where I did hair 30 years of my career. In addition to shaping, my specialty,"painting" is natural hair color and color correction. We provide a full service of a consultation, listen, create what is best for YOU, conditioning, shaping and blow-dry or natural drying process." My review: Phyllis is amazing! She sat down and listened to what I wanted and then cut my hair paying attention to what it was going to do on its own. After she cut my hair she took a lot of time to teach me what product to use and how to dry my hair and style it. My hair has never looked better and it has never been easier to do - now all of my days are good hair days! I have colored had my hair colored for years and Phyllis did a fantastic job with highlights - very natural looking without being too subtle. Phyllis herself has between 3c and 4 curls and her hair always looks fantastic - she knows from personal and professional experience how to treat curly hair. I'm so glad I found her and that she let me share her info for others in WNC.
