This was the absolute best salon experience I have ever had. She not only gave me a haircut I love but she gave me tips on how to keep my hair healthy and how to style it. Ely is a very nice and comforting woman. A true professional. I am so happy with my hair cut. I stopped perming my hair 8 months ago and immediately jumped on the box braid (Solange style) band wagon. I had braids in on and off for 7 months. I finally decided to take a break and cut the rest of my relaxed hair off. My hair was a little dry and stressed from the braids but Ely worked her magic and I was as good as new. I haven't seen my natural curly hair since I have 7. I'm very happy to have found a hair dresses who I know has my best interest in mind.

Ely gave me the worst cut I've had in years. She cut off more than I asked her to AND she made it all one layer. I sported the dreaded triangle shape for way too long thanks to that cut. She didn't seem rushed, so I'm not sure how she neglected to put any layers in. She even missed several pieces of hair that were still my original length (my husband measured it and said she hacked about five inches off, and I only asked for one or two inches off But it was easy for me to tell the length difference on my own because my hair used to reach my pants waist, and now it barely brushes my bra strap). I could deal with all that (maybe she's really new to curly hair?), but the kicker was that she never got back to me when I touched base with her about my concerns. Not professional. It's been months now so I'm giving up hope on that. She also surprised me by saying there would be a travel charge, but then let me off the hook for it since it had never been mentioned in our e-mails leading up to the appointment. I hope my experience was a total fluke.
