I have had some bad experiences at other salons, so when I found Salon Ivan all my fears were put to rest, what a relief to walk into a salon where the people actually have curly hair. Olivia was amazing, she is such a kind young woman, not to mention truly gifted at working with curls. So grateful I found this salon. My hair has never looked better!

I fought my curls for years before I finally conceded. After I moved here from Florida, I was concerned that I might not find someone who would understand and style my curls to my satisfaction.
I am pleased to say that Ivan not only is an awesome stylist, he's a brilliant conversationalist as well. If you're into Myers-Briggs personality typing, he's an INTJ (which I love, since I am one too).
If you want a marvelous haircut and some intellectually stimulating conversation, this is the place to go!

I rebelled against my curly hair for years. While I lived in Florida I found a stylist who understood my hair and stayed with him for 12 years. When I moved to Colorado, I was doubtful if I would find someone I could trust with my cantankerous curls.
Enter Ivan of Salon Ivan! He not only understands curls (he and his wife have them), but he understands people. Being a Myers-Briggs INTJ, I don't usually find myself comfortable with the chatter you usually find in a salon, but Ivan and his wife are not only knowledgeable in hair care but also in personality types.
They will make you feel at ease immediately and even keep an eye on your parking meter and feed it so you won't get a ticket.
Where ekse can you get a fantastic haircut accompanied by an hour of intellectually stimulating conversation? I recommend Ivan to anyone who wants the best in hair care.

This is by far the best salon I have ever been to. Ivan is a true artist in the way that he works with hair. He really understands curly hair and always makes it look amazing. His haircuts are always personalized to suit his client's needs and lifestyles. Ever since I have been going to Ivan I get compliments on a daily basis. My entire family goes to Ivan and we will never go anywhere else. I am extremely picky with my hair but Ivan really is worth bragging about. This salon is just wonderful in every way, the atmosphere, the conversation, and the top notch hair services. I am so grateful to have such a fantastic stylist and always feel like my hair is in good hands!

I must concur with all of the previous reviews. Salon Ivan is a very preofessional, relaxed, clean salon and the owner Ivan is an excellent, knowledgeable stylist that is great at putting you at ease. His expertise shines as he examines your curls, asks questions and makes subtle suggestions. I loved the personal attention, and at the time I was the only client there. Ivan does a great job of ensuring a relaxing ambiance with soothing music, and offers of tea, coffee, etc... He even gave me quarters for my parking meter! He was able to articulate the look I was going for and cultivated my curls beautifully. He cuts each curl one at a time and takes the time to closely evaluate your hair and get to know not only your curls, but YOU. As a previous reviewer mentioned, Ivan is very interesting to converse with and my appointment ran long solely because we were talking as if we had known each other for years. He is a kind soul, and works magic with curls. I will be back for sure!

I have to agree with the prior 2 reviewers. Ivan is great. With his expertise, I've got the curly hair I've always wanted. He's got just the right mix of listening and suggesting, for those of us who aren't too sure what we want exactly. His wife, Michelle, works there, too, and they're both smart, warm people. And both curly-headed. Don't worry about parking. There are usually metered spots out front, and they'll keep track of that for you. It's also kitty-corner from the Kiowa Street parking garage. (The building address is on Tejon, but their entrance is on Kiowa.) They know and sell the Deva Curl products but they apply zero pressure to buy. Michelle says she didn't like the feeling when others did that to her, so she doesn't do it to to others. I have to give Ivan top rating for color, too. My color now has all the depth and hues it had when I was kid, which is what I wanted. It's so natural looking that I forget I've gone grey. I think their prices are quite fair, lower than I expected. That makes me happy. I feel like I can make another appointment as soon as I need it, rather than wait until my hair gets really bad while I save up my shekels.

Ivan is so great! My curls have never looked this good! He taught me how to work with my hair and how to get the most out of my curls. He uses Deva Curl. His approach to curly hair is so different then any other stylist I have been too. My husband said my hair looks the best it has ever looked. I highly recomend Ivan. Salon Ivan is a small, intimate salon at the heart of downtown C Springs. When I was there at the end of the day, I was the only person there. I appreciated the one-on-one attention that my hair got. Ivan is a Deva trained curl specialist. He talked to me about my hair, washed it, and then studied and adjusted it every step of the drying process to get me a very great cut (a 5-inch cut is no small feat for curly hair!). He was very keen on coaxing my hair to reach it's curl potential before finalizing the look. I never thought I could love my curls more than I already do, but it's happened. I also appreciate that Ivan pointed out the products he was using, but didn't push me into buying them. It's great to know that I can buy DevaChan products in my hometown from Salon Ivan when I do decide to use them.
Besides sharing tips and tricks from his own experience, Ivan is also a fascinating person to have a conversation with. I'll be looking back on my experience at Salon Ivan for many years to come. If you want a cut and a conversation from a talented and thoughtful soul, go to this salon. As an introvert, I've often felt overwhelmed at salons, but this experience didn't drain me at all, and I left feeling more like I had coffee with a new friend who just happened to be a curl expert as opposed to being hurried through the assembly line, like at larger salons.
