This serum adds shine and sheen to hair. It is perfect for smoothing ends, taming frizz, defining curls and softening hair.

All of these ingredients are available in organic. Shea butter can be substituted for shea nilotica. The scent of coconut is divine in this serum. If you prefer no coconut scent, use regular coconut oil.

What You’ll Need

  • Shea nilotica

  • Virgin coconut oil

  • Castor oil

  • Sweet orange essential oil (optional”>

  • 2-ounce bottle with treatment pump or spouted dispensing lid

Shea nilotica is from northern Uganda; it is a creamy soft butter. Shea nilotica smooths, protects, softens and adds shine and sheen to hair. Castor oil cuts greasiness, adds dazzling shine and sheen to hair and provides a nice slip to the serum. Coconut oil softens and seals moisture in the hair. The combination of these three ingredients creates a luxurious serum. Sweet orange essential helps to balance sebum and the scent instills calmness and happiness.

Sheeny Shiny Serum can be applied to wet or dry hair. Apply the serum to wet hair to seal in moisture or to dry hair as a finisher.

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons Shea nilotica, 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon castor oil into a heat safe mini pot. (A one-cup stainless steel measuring cup works”>.

  2. Gently melt the butter and oils on low heat, stirring as they melt. They melt quickly, make sure and watch it. Once melted, remove the pot from the heat to prevent burning the butter and oils.

  3. Optional: Stir in 20 drops sweet orange essential oil.

  4. Pour serum into the bottle with a treatment pump or spouted dispensing lid.

  5. Allow serum to cool before capping.
