I’m Denise, I live in the DC area with my husband and am a full time mom to three beautiful children. Oh, and I have a million locs that grow like wild flowers.

I’ve been growing my locs for five years now. I big chopped to rid myself of all of my relaxer-damaged hair then started with coils about six months later. My scalp is my biggest priority when it comes to keeping my hair healthy. I keep my scalp clean and free from product. I don’t focus much on styling.

The one thing my hair and skin cannot live without is Rose Water. I love this stuff. I use it as a moisturizer and as a toner for my skin. It works wonders, is safe enough to eat, and does not cause buildup.

Maintaining Healthy Locs With Seborrheic Dermatitis

My hair is extremely thick and takes forever to dry. But my scalp produces an excess of Sebum which builds up and causes me to have to wash it. My scalp could easily be washed daily while my hair would be constantly wet if I did. It’s a challenge finding a happy medium.

My advice for you and your hair?

Don’t take it so seriously. It’s just hair. Experiment and see it through. You’ll learn something new about yourself throughout the process.
