Just a few words to let Jessica, know that when I was at her Salon on August the 7th. Jessica, was with a new client, I thought that I would like to make a compliment on the clients hair cause it looked really shinning and lively, but I didn't say anything cause this person not only complain about what she asked Jessica, what she wanted this person asked Jessica, to cut some of the length of her hair, then she express dissatisfaction I coudn't believe that after Jessica, explain as she was working with the clients hair she complain. I believe that this person goes to not only to Salon's, but to other business to see what she can get without paying.Lady just look in the mirror and see who is the unprofessional. Jessica, took a lot of money and time, to do what she as a professional would do to make this client look it's best. Enough of that scam artists. I use to live in the Ventura County area for many years and found that Jessica, had a Going Green Salon, I loved that I don't have to smell all those chemical in her Salon. Yes! I'm driving all the ways from Palmdale, C.A to have Jessica, do my hair at least one's a month, so many of the Salon's that I was going to would say to me you have such thick and course hair, I don't want to hear that about my hair, I know what type of hair I've got. That's why I love going to her Salon to me it is a more relaxed Salon, then the one's I use to go to. Jessica, keep up the great work.

After searching for 40+ years for someone who knows how to cut and style my curly hair, I found Jessica at California Styles salon.
She was recommended by my sister, another curly gal. We have both been going to California Styles salon for the last few years. I am always satisfied with my haircuts from her. I usually bring in a picture for a visual, we discuss what I want my hair to do, and she takes it from there.
My hair looks good when I leave the salon, and continues to look good while it grows out in-between haircuts. I can't imagine trusting my curls to anybody else.

I see Jessica monthly for touch-ups and haircuts as needed. She has been my stylist for the past four years and I have nothing but positive things to say about her. I love the fact that she only cuts my hair when necessary, not every time I get my hair colored as every stylist in the past has done. Before she touches my hair, we discuss what I want done, whether it be a new color or new length. I am a 3B curly. I value her judgment greatly. I have recommended Jessica to many people, including my sister. Give Jessica a chance; you won't be disappointed.

My curly hair has never looked this good in terms of color, style and condition. My experience with Jessica is that she is extremely caring and professional. She listens to what I want and I trust her totally. I have referred some other curly friends (including my sister) to her and all have continued to frequent her salon.I am reviewing Jessica after all these years because I am shocked by some of the comments made by others. I was tired of fighting my big, shoulder-length 3A hair, so when my stylist retired I looked for a curly hair specialist. Searching Google and Yelp led me to Jessica Evrist.
I found California Styles to be a very attractive salon with a calm, nurturing vibe. Jessica explained that before she'd cut my hair she would wash and deep-condition it, then dry it with a diffuser to see the natural curl pattern. I decided then and there to trust Jessica to convert me to a Curly Girl.
During the deep-conditioning process, Jessica handed me a copy of "The Curly Girl Handbook" and encouraged me to read some passages she'd highlighted. That provided a good orientation to the techniques and types of products that make the most of curly hair.
I left the salon with soft, shiny curls that looked better than I ever thought possible. Plus some DevaCurl products and a new copy of "The Curly Girl Handbook." Jessica encouraged me to buy them only after I inquired; she did not pressure.
It's been a month and I just booked my next appointment with Jessica. I'm still adjusting to life as a CG, and there's no one I'd trust my curls to more than her.

Jessica did a wonderful and amazing job on my hair. I'm glad she showed me how to accentuate my natural curls. The Deva products that she sells and uses on your hair are fabulous and can really make you look like a new and improved person! I will definitely be going back.

Jessica at California Styles Salon is hands down the absolute BEST!! Unlike all the other hairstylists I've gone to, she cut my curly hair dry rather than wet. This small change made such an unbelievably huge difference. This process allowed her to know exactly where and how much to cut just by the way the curls were laying dry. Throughout the cutting process, she explained everything she was doing, which put me at ease. For the first time in my life, I can finally say that I have found THE stylist for my curly hair. No more being upset and disappointed after another failed attempt of getting my hair cut at another dreaded salon...those days are OVER thanks to Jessica and her amazing talent. Oh and the best thing is that Jessica is a curly girl too so she knows firsthand all about curls!! I highly recommend Jessica...you won't leave her salon disappointed. I have seen Jessica 3 times and love her. I never knew what to do with my waves until I went to her. Every other stylist cut my hair wet and blow dried it out...EVERYONE. I have seen at least 5 dif stylists in the last 2 years alone. Because of that I blew it out too and my hair was dry, brittle, unmanagable. I was recommended to Jessica by a woman with very curly hair, a chance meeting in a phone store and made an appt. Jessica saw the potential in my hair and started to talk to me about it. She explained all about how to care for curly hair and why. She went through every step with me. I walked out of the salon so relieved that I could finally have some control over my hair. Plus the natural hair dye she uses is awesome. And her prices are very comparable to other salons in the surrounding areas. Definitely go see her!

Jessica truly understands curly hair. She is a curly girl herself and has helped my hair to be healthier and more managable than I ever thought possible. My hair had been straightened (and ruined) by the Japanese method and seemed hopeless until I met Jessica. She taught me to embrace and appreciate my curls and has also helped my young daughter to do the same. No one has ever given me the encouragement to keep my hair curly like Jessica has.
