What inspired the name of Originals by Africa’s Best?
With our recent rebrand we wanted to create a look for our products that is as original as our consumers. You’ll notice that all of our products, including our classic Originals by Africa’s Best Hair Mayonnaise Deep Conditioner, feature the same great formulas, regardless of our new look. Our consumers keep leveling up, and so did we!
How have Black women continued to shape Originals by Africa’s Best?
Black and brown women have always been the pioneering voices behind Originals by Africa’s Best. From our marketing team to our product developers! We regularly speak to leading hair care professionals in the curly/coily hair care space to make sure we are always aligned with what is best for the girls. We constantly look at the feedback from the black and brown women in our community. Their voices lead the brand inside and out.

Originals by Africa’s Best, formerly known as Organics, launched in 2001 as an affordable haircare line for women and girls of every hair type and texture. It was formulated to help women with curly, kinky, coily, and straightened hair with their everyday hair needs. Each product in these collections was chosen to help promote strong, soft, and healthy hair that makes hair maintenance and styling easy.
What are 3 best practices for maintaining healthy hair?
It’s hard to choose a favorite when it comes to our go-to practices for maintaining healthy hair, but here are 3 that we definitely stand by.
1. When using your Originals by Africa’s Best Olive & Shea Deep Conditioner Masque, rinse it out with cool water to lock in the moisture.
2. Finger Detangle. Finger detangling with your favorite conditioner in your hair leads to less breakage and more defined curls!
3. Protect your hair when you sleep! Cover your hair with a satin/silk scarf or bonnet. You can also sleep on a silk/satin pillowcase.
