We’re in our IRL era.

We love educating, empowering and inspiring this community every day through our NaturallyCurly platform online, but nothing beats seeing and hearing from you in real life. On May 21, 2023 NaturallyCurly hosted stylists, industry leaders, and community members at our Curly Celebration at the SOHO House Chicago to celebrate our legacy and our vision for the future.

NaturallyCurly Founder, Michelle Breyer, shared the rich, 25-year history of this platform and how it all began. From the early days of forums and product reviews to the thriving and diverse community it has become. Essence Director of Innovations, Varsay Sirleaf gave a behind-the-scenes look at what to expect this year from NaturallyCurly, with a sneak peek at the Best of the Best 2023 Award Winners (coming soon) and new innovations happening on SHOPNaturallyCurly. I hosted an interactive discussion around the hottest hair trends of 2023, with inspiring input from texture specialists and community members in the audience.

The event ended on a high note with a no-holds-barred Q&A session with tight curl specialists Aisha Strickland and Aeleise Ollavia of Black Girl Curls and Cut It Kinky, along with Cosmetic Chemist Erica Douglas aka Sister Scientist. These supremely knowledgable experts shared their wisdom on letting go of dead ends, keeping coils properly moisturized, uplifting your curlfriends, and much, much more. We are so grateful for everyone who made this event the Curly Celebration of the year. Scroll for more of our favorite moments.
