The holidays are finally over, and we are (hopefully) done stuffing our faces with snacks and eggnog. With the new year comes new resolutions. The most common are to exercise more, spend more time with friends, get a raise, etc. Mine is to be smarter about my wardrobe choices, with my main area of concern being to have key transitional pieces that I can go from the office to happy hour or dinner with minimal effort.

I have always envied those women who look so chic after a day of working and are still effortless well into happy hour with friends. They must spend hours going over their wardrobe to find the perfect day-to-night combo, right? My goal is to be more like these women, so I have found a few lovely items that will be (hopefully) gracing my wardrobe soon. Enjoy!

Cropped Pant. This cropped pant looks put together at work with a pair of strappy heels. Add a blazer over a feminine tank and voila! Instant happy hour.

Mod Cloth Sweater Dress. If you have a more casual work environment, like I do, then you can definitely get away with this sweater dress paired with tights and boots during the winter or heels in the spring. This is truly a transitional piece, going from winter to spring effortlessly, and will last many seasons.

Wristlet Purse. Don't get caught out with your overflowing work bag—no one cares about those spreadsheets, trust me. Keep a fun wristlet in your usual bag, so you can easily swap your card and keys for a night out. I am loving this wristlet from Express.
