4Cs + Curl by Kenra = Positive Emotions

Here’s a play-by-play of my regimen using Curl by Kenra:
  • Cleanse with Curl Co-Wash – This co-wash is extraordinary. If you want your coils to feel completely saturated with a sulfate-, paraben-, and sodium chloride-free formula that you can use on a regular basis, then you’re going to need this co-wash in your life.
  • Feed Coils A Whole Lot of Curl Conditioner – Oh  my goodness, curlies…. This conditioner is my jam. It’s formulated to help your coils look well defined and feel healthy all day long. I left this conditioner in for roughly 15 minutes. You can use it as a leave-in if you’d like. After washing it out, I was thrilled to discover that my coils were soft and happy! It was a pretty exciting moment. Even though the conditioner is a sufficient moisturizer, I followed my usual routine of slathering my hair in my favorite hair oil and moisture balm. Oh! And I must mention that the parfum in this conditioner is very pleasant.
  • Definition and Styling with Curl Control Gel 10
Having experienced this positive change in the look and feel of my coils, I thought: What about the gel? I love gel… will I love this one?
… Thinking back on that, I can laugh. Of course I immediately fell for this gel!
My favorite thing about it is how well its medium hold worked in conjunction with my favorite hair oil.

The gel didn’t crunch away at my coils and made my curls look cute cute cute all day long.

SMOOTH IT IN + GENTLY PULL THOSE COILS + ALSO SCRUNCH!

No flaking. No weird residue. Just well-moisturized curls. I love it, curlies. Love it!

Now, the true test was next: adding a product to curls that were styled with a gel.

Sometimes refreshers don’t work well with product that’s already been applied and has settled into your hair. The fortunate thing about Curl by Kenra is that the refresher and gel are apart of the same family, designed perfectly to get along with each other… and it shows!

  • Soften Up with Curl Refresher Spray – My hair had been gelled up for about six hours when I finally decided that I needed to refresh my coils. I shook up the bottle and sprayed my coils with this sweet smelling goodness. Although it’s best used for second-day hairstyles, I think the Curl Refresher is good for daily use whenever curls need a moisture boost.

Uggggh…. look are those coils, you guys. Refreshed and coiler than ever. I dig this line so much!

Another cool fact about Curl by Kenra is that the line isn’t exclusive to tight 4s like me. It’s for every curl pattern! There are two more products in the regimen that I recommend my Wavy and Curly comrades use on a regular basis:

  • Hold It Down with Curl High-Hold Spray Gel 15 – Since I don’t need serious hold from gels, I highly recommend this spray gel to my fellow curlies that want to keep every wave and spiral in place. Although this gel offers an intense hold, your hair will look and move in a natural way (it won’t look stiff and over styled”>. It’s also lightweight and won’t flake on you after it dries. How wonderful is that?
