It’s interesting that once you hit a certain curl-type threshold, style names change.

And not a polite, tight mouth corners “Oh, how interesting.”, I mean it’s genuinely fascinating to me. I’m a word nerd. Once you hit type 4A, a pony tail becomes an afro-puff, and that’s pretty darn cool if you ask me. But if you’re purposefully looking at hair length goals as you grow, reaching the ‘puff point’ where all your hair can be drawn back into one band takes TIME.

Even once you get there, pulling everything in and up can result in unruly baby hairs, breakage (both your hair AND your hair ties”>, and an overly tight look that ends up diminishing the length progress you’ve made. If you’re puffing for style, rather than just for hitting the gym, you’re definitely going to want an alternative. Fortunately, we’ve been able to partner with the OGs at  ORS and the incomparable Okwe to “hack” this simple style into reflecting its true fullness fast! Let’s watch.

Be honest, did you know it could be that easy?

What can’t bobby pins do!

Okwe grabbed ORS Olive Oil for Naturals Butter Glaze Gel Soufflé to get her second-day sides nice and sleek. You’ll notice that shine in her hair, as well as the softness that this literally buttery gel provides. It’s a dairy nice look, wouldn’t you agree?
