FROM LUPITA'S INSTAGRAM, "They are calling it a #fronut. I like that."

Lupita Nyong'o inspired a new hashtag at the Cannes Film Festival this week, and we've enjoyed watching it evolve on our Instagram feeds. Introducing: the #fronut.

The natural hair star literally twirled down the red carpet at Cannes - and if given the chance, we'd take twirling over walking any day - giving us all exactly what we wanted: a 360 degree view of her hair, makeup, jewelry and that pleated green Gucci dress.

Lupita's hair stylist Vernon François told Refinery29 "I am passionate about demonstrating what is possible to create with natural, Afro-textured hair. It isn’t about ’new' trends; I want to showcase to women of color all over the world how versatile their hair is by exposing them to hairstyles from different cultures." In this case he took inspiration from the women of Uganda for this updo, saying "traditional looks can and should be just as show-stopping on the high street as they are on the red carpet."

Last time Lupita wowed us on the red carpet with her natural hair updo, one of our graphic designers immediately got to work recreating the twists and braids on one of our account managers. It took a bit of skill, an extra set of hands, and Marley hair. We think Marley hair was used to create this look as well, but it is a much simpler style that you could recreate yourself. Besides, you heard the man (and he clearly knows what he's talking about), a style doesn't need to be difficult or 'new' to be special. That bun you rock to work every day, the twist-out you perfected, and your wash and go can be show stoppers worthy of a ballgown. Lupita's stylist said so.

We've loved seeing women try their hand at the #fronut already, and want to see more! Make sure to tag @NaturallyCurly on Instagram so we can share your #fronut with our community. And a word of warning, #fronut has another meaning, it has to do with frozen yogurt and donuts. So maybe don't look at this hashtag if you're on a diet.

#NaturallyCurly world: would you rock a #fronut?
