I read the Curly Girl Handbook by Lorraine Massey and then blessed to find Giovonni DeMarcus. Giovonni helped me sort through all that I learned in Lorraine Massey's book, and he helped me put certain products together that helped me best manage my hair. My first visit consisted of a caring and insightful consult that took about 2 hours. AMAZING! The distance and time it takes for me to travel to his salon is well worth it. His cut and styling proess graced me with numerous compliments and I feel so amazingly great about my hair. I use less products and wash it now 2 - 3 days/week. If you are looking for a stylist to care for your naturally curly hair, look no further. Giovanni is your hair stylist!

I started going to Joe about a year ago. He has totally changed the way I look at my curly hair. The minute you walk into the salon you are treated like a family member. Joe takes the time to figure out with you what is the best way to cut, color, and design your hair. Everyone is treated as an individual with individual needs. You are not just a number to Joe. The salon is run by Leta (Joe’s wife) and Brittany. They work hard to make sure that you get the appointments and products you need. Joe taught me in one appointment more about styling my curly hair then I had learn in 24 years. Not only does the Exceptions Family give you a great hair cut but new self confidence in your hair and yourself.

Exceptions is owned and run by a married couple. The husband (Joe) is one of the hairdressers. While I was in their salon, I was treated like family from the moment I walked in the door. They were friendly and sweet. Joe listened to exactly what I wanted done with my hair. With every step, Joe explained what he was doing to my hair and why. He also made recommendations along the way without being pushy. There was not a moment I felt nervous or anxious with the outcome of my hair with Joe. Joe promised I would walk out of there with great hair, and I did. My hair looks FABULOUS curly or straight. It's the BEST haircut I've ever gotten. What a great way to start off 2006! Exceptions do take walk-ins, but I HIGHLY recommend making an appointment since Joe is such a perfectionist and takes his time with your hair.
