I love Beatrice, I've been going to her for the past 5 years. I moved to the Eastside and she books out after your last appointment, which adds up to me not being able to continue to see her.  And now the search for an Eastside curly hair specialist begins.

My first visit to B she did a dry cut, she looked at my curls, she made a plan and she executed it perfectly. For subsequent appointments she would do wet cuts because she already know how my hair curls, so I don't believe a dry cut each time was necessary.

If you're a new client, call her about 8 weeks before you want to come in (I just couldn't ever predict when my hair was going to need a cut) and she'll do a great job. Just go with a very well defined idea of what you want and she can make it happen.

I went to Beatrice having read the reviews here on Naturally Curly. I have 2a/3c hair. Do be aware, she is a one woman shop and she books up quick! She is sweet and has knowledge about curly hair. However, I found she cut my hair too short. I was thinking she was going to cut my hair via "dry" technique, but she does it the traditional way with your hair wet. I think she is good at her craft, but I think I will find someone who does "dry" cuts.

I went to Beatrice October 2009 after looking forever trying to find someone to cut my curly hair. My hair still looks great even as I've grown it out. I wanted it cut short and she did just that and made it look great. She doesn't schedule anything after you that way she can focus all the time she needs on you and your hair. She asked what I wanted done and did that and also talks to you about how you do your hair as far as what products you use and the steps you take. And tells you what she recommends. I have 3b curly hair and was worried about looking like a mushroom but I felt like I could be in a magazine when I walked out of there. She cut my hair while wet. The ends are even when I straighten it with a flat iron so it looks great either way. Her salon is small but comfortable. I had to wait a couple months for my appointment but that could be because at the time she had trips out of town planned. I will call ahead to set my hair cut appointment this spring just in case. I'm ready for a short cut again as its easier to take care of shorter.

I went to see Beatrice last year and was very disappointed. She did not listen to what I wanted or how I care for my hair, and I ended up with a style I would have needed to sit under the dryer at home for 20 minutes each morning to make work.

I have reviewed Bea before, but my review seems to be gone, so I will do it again! Bea is the only person I will let touch my hair, I searched for someone for 6 years before finding her. She has crazy curls herself and knows just how to give you the perfect haircut. She is sweet and funny and taught me all about styling my own hair. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

I've got crazy 3C hair. I found Beatrice through reviews on this site and have gone to her about 4-5 times. I also just started having my hair highlighted by her last year. All I can say is that she's fantastic! She listens to what you are asking for and works with you on getting you what you want. She has crazy curly hair as well -- almost a 4A, so she knows what it's like to be a curly head and how to work with it. I highly recommend her. She works solo in a small salon just a few blocks from the Fremont bridge.

I went to Beatrice based on the recommendations here, and I was NOT disappointed. I have rarely found a stylist who understood curly hair, or who listened at all to the problems I was having. From the moment I sat down, Beatrice asked me questions about what my hair care routine was, etc. that showed me she was really paying attention. She not only gave me the best haircut I've had in years, but helped me figure out some of the styling problems I was having. Not to mention her very cool, very independent business. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up. :o]
