I originally was a client of Nicole's when she worked at Curl Ambassadors before moving on to Sears at Sherway Gardens (which closed two months ago). She has now settled in at iBeauty and I'm still faithfully seeing her. She is a true "curl expert". She educates you on the way to care for your curls and you'll always walk out looking fantastic! She deals with ALL curly types (I'm a 3B), and hair textures. I've referred all my curly friends to her, and I also take my 3 curly haired children, too!! She is well priced and ultra knowledgeable when it comes to curls and curl care.

Nicole was AMAZING!!!! My hair was half relaxed/natural curls. She cut the relaxed hair off and gave me an awesome style & color for my curls!! I NEVER had a proper style with my curls and can't believe what a great job she did! I LOVE my hair now! I just had my first curly cut ever last night with Nicole at Sears Sherway Gardens. She is fantastic! I went in with wavy hair and now I have a fabulous cut that has lots of curls and bounce! She took her time showing me how to style my hair properly, talked to me about products without pushing them at all, and gave me a nice-sized sample to take home. My hair looks great, curlier than I ever thought possible. Very happy with Nicole and will definitely be going back! Note: the debit machine does not accommodate tips, so make sure to bring some extra cash if you want to tip!

Well I finally bit the bullet and decided to try Nicole for a haircut after reading the reviews here. I had been with my previous hairdresser for 15 years but unfortunately he's no longer cutting hair. I tried a couple of other 'curly hair experts' and wasn't happy at all. Anyhow, Nicole was great! She saw I was nervous and really looked at my hair and explained what she was going to do. I love my haircut! I'll definitely be going back but next time I'm trusting her with the colour too. She saw right away that the colour I have now does nothing for me. By the way, she works 6 days a week not just Wednesdays so getting an appointment shouldn't be a problem. Give her a try if you're looking...I'm pretty sure you'll be happy :-)

I had an appointment with Nicole appx a month ago (as recommended by the reviews on this website). She was AMAZING! Nicole was not only friendly upon calling her to book an appointment, but also in person. She was extremely informative and gave very good advice about my hair type. If I might add, I've spent quite a lot of money on different hair salons in the downtown core because they all advertise that they specialize in curly hair. However the atmosphere at these places were very uptight, not welcoming and the hair stylists there were VERY pushy to purchase their products. Nicole on the other hand was not either of these. Aside from her good interpersonal skills...she definitely has the expertise in cutting curly skills -definitely points for building/maintaining a client base.
If your reading this Nicole:THANK-YOU SO MUCH. This is the first time I have NOT regretted a hair cut...ever! I didn't get a chance to tip you last time since the credit machine had no tip option (felt horrible) But I will on my next visit!

At this point, I've been to every curly salon downtown (seriously!) and I would still WAY rather trek out to Nicole at Sherway Gardens. She really gets curly hair, and also cares about what is going to look best and keep your hair healthy. My most recent cut on 01-22-12 looks fantastic and my hair feels great. Better yet, I left the salon with the big, soft, curly hair that I wanted, not hard and flattened to my scalp like most other stylists seem to manage. Leaving a salon feeling like my hair looks good is a pretty rare feeling for me, but now that I'm back to Nicole, I know I'll get that every time.

I just wanted to let you guys know that Nicole isn't the only good stylist at sears. Nicole is only at Sears on Wednesday's and i went to sears on Sunday. Since it was a long drive, I decided to get my hair cut by Lena instead. I was a bit worried that my hair would become a puff but Lena gave me the best cut I have ever had, plus it was only for $55, (I think Nicole did one for me for $46 but I didn't ask for layers that time). She also talked to me a lot and gave me tips on styling and straightening.

FIrst of all, thanks to everyone for recommending such a great stylist. It's much appreciated! I just went for my first haircut w/ Nicole and my only direction was to make it look better. I knew I was in the right place when I asked her about what she thought of my current haircut and she pointed out exactly what had been bothering me... she was spot on with the things I was always telling my last stylist to fix. Well the result is it looks 100% better, she cut a bit more off than I expected (which is my fault for not being more specific) but it still looks nice, even though I'm still adjusting to it. It was great to have someone give you tips as she was styling it. She definitely understands curly hair though (especially the part about it being wet before putting gel, etc. in it)... no stylist seems to understand that, they just start putting goop in through your half dry hair. I still style it my way (since my way is faster) but I'm already looking forward to my next appointment so we can tweak it a bit and also get some more tips. I don't have time to go downtown for a haircut so a very convenient location.

I have been waiting months to get out to see Nicole after reading all these reviews. I finally went - and I'm glad I did. Nicole looked at the pictures I brought of my hair and what I thought I wanted, and worked with it to make a great shape! I wasn't fond of the style at first (a little big for my liking) but after the gel relax a bit I love it! Even the day after styling it on my own, so much easier now that it has a shape!

Umm, I don't know if those that gave Nicole rave reviews are friends of hers or if they just had a much better experience than me. The cut was not terrible but her ability to style curly hair (or at least my curls 3a/3b) was awful. There was a lot of scrunching and no focus on curl definition at all. I came out looking like a frizzy poodle. I was hesitant to go to a Sears salon but I'd read good things about her on this site. I'm writing this to dissuade others from making the same mistake I did. I would recommend going somewhere that specializes in curly hair so that you don't come away like me - wanting to hide as you run to your car!

I'm 14 years old. It has taken me 14 years to get a good hair cut. I am soooooooooooooooo pleased with what Nicole did; she honestly just trimmed it and shaped it better but it has made the biggest difference. She showed me how I can diffuse my hair, and how to get second day hair ... and also what products she used. She was very helpful, and entertaining too. Getting a hair cut for me is fairly stressful because it can go wrong so easily, in so many ways! I will definintly go back to her, she understood exactly what I wanted (:

Seriously, words cannot describe how happy I am with my cut/colour by Nicole! I realized that I hadn't been for a hair cut in a ridiculously long time and set up an appointment with Nicole for 1/11/11. At the last minute, I decided I wanted some highlights as well to break up my not-so-great at home dye job and Nicole was totally accommodating! She's always really sweet about my DIY colour, and never makes me feel bad about it which I really appreciate. The highlights look fantastic, but it's the cut that I'm really in love with. What's so great about Nicole is that I can vaguely describe what I want and she always knows exactly what to do. My flat curls are now big and bouncy. I have so much height and volume to my hair, but she also managed to keep my length (I'm always trying to grow my hair longer). My hair looks and feels amazing! Nicole is incredible at what she does and I will never trust my hair to anyone else. I've been to all the expensive downtown salons, but no one "gets" what I like the way Nicole does. I love my big, curly hair :)

My hair was such a source of frustration and expense... and then I finally got a good haircut! Nicole is fantastic, and absolutely knows how to cut hair. I've been to her 4 times now, and my hair has never looked better or been more easy to manage. I'm also not wasting money on expensive products, because now that I have a great stylist, any drugstore product will do the trick. So no more expensive trips to the curl ambassadors, or Chiggy's, with such mixed results, because Nicole has mad skills!!!

Just had the best hair cut of my life with Nicole! I've been to several "curly hair" salons - Curly Hair Institute, Delienation, Prisma, which were all good but Nicole was the best. She sat down with me before we began and reviewed what it was I was looking for and explained to me what she would be doing. She cut my hair wet first and then a bit when it was dry. She explained each step of the styling/drying process and wrote down instructions for me to take home. The price was quite reasonable, as well as the price for the products. Will be back for sure!

I previously went to a curly salon that was overpriced and not very personable, then I tried a friendlier salon that gave me a weird cut...so after searching this website, I came across Nicole and after reading all her positive reviews, I decided to give her a shot. I was able to get an appointment with her the same day and she was amazing. She fixed my bad cut and was very knowledgeable about curly hair. Plus, since she works in Sears, the price was right. I knew Nicole from when she worked at Curl Ambassadors. I happened to run in to her at the Sears Hair Studio as I was passing through the Sears store, and so I made an appointment with her. I had my second cut from her a couple of days ago and I am delighted! My hair is full of body, the curls are springy and I even get second day hair (before, I was lucky if I got second hour hair!).
Nicole really knows what she's doing, and she's also honest about products; she never pushes a particular product and will say something if she thinks it's not so great.
All in all, a great haircut at a great price! And she's a pretty cool woman too!

After wondering who would get their curly hair done at Sears, I read the reviews only to realize that this was Nicole, formerly of the Curl Ambassadors!! What great news! I used to go to her at her previous employer, and ever since she left my hair had not been done the same. She is truly a curl expert!! If you're looking for a proper "curly cut" then you must go and see her! She is an amazing stylist, very talented! I made the trip out to see Nicole (I'm from Hamilton) and it was well worth it! For once, I didn't have to pull my hair back when walking out of a salon because I was embarrassed how horribly frizzy my hair was. Nicole was very knowledgeable and helpful. Previously having had great experiences with Nicole at the Curl Ambassadors, I hadn't seen her in almost a year, having no idea where she had relocated. Thanks to a helpful thread on nc.com, I've found her again and I'm so glad I did!
While Sears certainly doesn't have the same boutique-y feel as Curl Ambassadors, it's a third of the price and Nicole is as talented as ever. She fixed up my over-processed blonde so that it looked natural and soft, and gave me a great cut, maintaining my length but giving me lots of volume. I'm totally thrilled with the result.
As a downtown girl, getting out to Sherway Gardens was super easy on the TTC. It's completely worth it for the great service and student-friendly price.

At this point, I've been to every curly salon downtown (seriously!) and I would still WAY rather trek out to Nicole at Sherway Gardens. She really gets curly hair, and also cares about what is going to look best and keep your hair healthy. My most recent cut on 01-22-12 looks fantastic and my hair feels great. Better yet, I left the salon with the big, soft, curly hair that I wanted, not hard and flattened to my scalp like most other stylists seem to manage. Leaving a salon feeling like my hair looks good is a pretty rare feeling for me, but now that I'm back to Nicole, I know I'll get that every time.

I would just like to add my voice of support for Nicole. I've been going to her for over a year now despite the fact that I don't live in Toronto. She's great, knows what she is doing and most importantly, understands curly hair. She listens to what you want, and I have never been disappointed.

I just wanted to let you guys know that Nicole isn't the only good stylist at sears. Nicole is only at Sears on Wednesday's and i went to sears on Sunday. Since it was a long drive, I decided to get my hair cut by Lena instead. I was a bit worried that my hair would become a puff but Lena gave me the best cut I have ever had, plus it was only for $55, (I think Nicole did one for me for $46 but I didn't ask for layers that time). She also talked to me a lot and gave me tips on styling and straightening.

FIrst of all, thanks to everyone for recommending such a great stylist. It's much appreciated! I just went for my first haircut w/ Nicole and my only direction was to make it look better. I knew I was in the right place when I asked her about what she thought of my current haircut and she pointed out exactly what had been bothering me... she was spot on with the things I was always telling my last stylist to fix. Well the result is it looks 100% better, she cut a bit more off than I expected (which is my fault for not being more specific) but it still looks nice, even though I'm still adjusting to it. It was great to have someone give you tips as she was styling it. She definitely understands curly hair though (especially the part about it being wet before putting gel, etc. in it)... no stylist seems to understand that, they just start putting goop in through your half dry hair. I still style it my way (since my way is faster) but I'm already looking forward to my next appointment so we can tweak it a bit and also get some more tips. I don't have time to go downtown for a haircut so a very convenient location.

I have been waiting months to get out to see Nicole after reading all these reviews. I finally went - and I'm glad I did. Nicole looked at the pictures I brought of my hair and what I thought I wanted, and worked with it to make a great shape! I wasn't fond of the style at first (a little big for my liking) but after the gel relax a bit I love it! Even the day after styling it on my own, so much easier now that it has a shape!

Umm, I don't know if those that gave Nicole rave reviews are friends of hers or if they just had a much better experience than me. The cut was not terrible but her ability to style curly hair (or at least my curls 3a/3b) was awful. There was a lot of scrunching and no focus on curl definition at all. I came out looking like a frizzy poodle. I was hesitant to go to a Sears salon but I'd read good things about her on this site. I'm writing this to dissuade others from making the same mistake I did. I would recommend going somewhere that specializes in curly hair so that you don't come away like me - wanting to hide as you run to your car!

I'm 14 years old. It has taken me 14 years to get a good hair cut. I am soooooooooooooooo pleased with what Nicole did; she honestly just trimmed it and shaped it better but it has made the biggest difference. She showed me how I can diffuse my hair, and how to get second day hair ... and also what products she used. She was very helpful, and entertaining too. Getting a hair cut for me is fairly stressful because it can go wrong so easily, in so many ways! I will definintly go back to her, she understood exactly what I wanted (:

Seriously, words cannot describe how happy I am with my cut/colour by Nicole! I realized that I hadn't been for a hair cut in a ridiculously long time and set up an appointment with Nicole for 1/11/11. At the last minute, I decided I wanted some highlights as well to break up my not-so-great at home dye job and Nicole was totally accommodating! She's always really sweet about my DIY colour, and never makes me feel bad about it which I really appreciate. The highlights look fantastic, but it's the cut that I'm really in love with. What's so great about Nicole is that I can vaguely describe what I want and she always knows exactly what to do. My flat curls are now big and bouncy. I have so much height and volume to my hair, but she also managed to keep my length (I'm always trying to grow my hair longer). My hair looks and feels amazing! Nicole is incredible at what she does and I will never trust my hair to anyone else. I've been to all the expensive downtown salons, but no one "gets" what I like the way Nicole does. I love my big, curly hair :)

My hair was such a source of frustration and expense... and then I finally got a good haircut! Nicole is fantastic, and absolutely knows how to cut hair. I've been to her 4 times now, and my hair has never looked better or been more easy to manage. I'm also not wasting money on expensive products, because now that I have a great stylist, any drugstore product will do the trick. So no more expensive trips to the curl ambassadors, or Chiggy's, with such mixed results, because Nicole has mad skills!!!

Just had the best hair cut of my life with Nicole! I've been to several "curly hair" salons - Curly Hair Institute, Delienation, Prisma, which were all good but Nicole was the best. She sat down with me before we began and reviewed what it was I was looking for and explained to me what she would be doing. She cut my hair wet first and then a bit when it was dry. She explained each step of the styling/drying process and wrote down instructions for me to take home. The price was quite reasonable, as well as the price for the products. Will be back for sure!

I previously went to a curly salon that was overpriced and not very personable, then I tried a friendlier salon that gave me a weird cut...so after searching this website, I came across Nicole and after reading all her positive reviews, I decided to give her a shot. I was able to get an appointment with her the same day and she was amazing. She fixed my bad cut and was very knowledgeable about curly hair. Plus, since she works in Sears, the price was right. I will stick with her for sure.

I knew Nicole from when she worked at Curl Ambassadors. I happened to run in to her at the Sears Hair Studio as I was passing through the Sears store, and so I made an appointment with her. I had my second cut from her a couple of days ago and I am delighted! My hair is full of body, the curls are springy and I even get second day hair (before, I was lucky if I got second hour hair!). Nicole really knows what she's doing, and she's also honest about products; she never pushes a particular product and will say something if she thinks it's not so great. All in all, a great haircut at a great price! And she's a pretty cool woman too!

After wondering who would get their curly hair done at Sears, I read the reviews only to realize that this was Nicole, formerly of the Curl Ambassadors!! What great news! I used to go to her at her previous employer, and ever since she left my hair had not been done the same. She is truly a curl expert!! If you're looking for a proper "curly cut" then you must go and see her! She is an amazing stylist, very talented! And the best part about it, is that because she's in the Sears Salon you're paying half the price for a great cut!! I'm so happy that my curiousity about the salon lead me to her!! I've already told all my curly friends!!

I made the trip out to see Nicole (I'm from Hamilton) and it was well worth it! For once, I didn't have to pull my hair back when walking out of a salon because I was embarrassed how horribly frizzy my hair was. Nicole was very knowledgeable and helpful. She was honest about products and told me what to use and what not to use. Very happy with the cut/style and will definitely go back. My 5 year hunt is finally over!! Awesome job Nicole! :)

She helped spring my curls back to life. She gave me step by step instructions with how to style my curls and she totally saw my vision. The plus factor was that she is so affordable. Previously having had great experiences with Nicole at the Curl Ambassadors, I hadn't seen her in almost a year, having no idea where she had relocated. Thanks to a helpful thread on nc.com, I've found her again and I'm so glad I did! While Sears certainly doesn't have the same boutique-y feel as Curl Ambassadors, it's a third of the price and Nicole is as talented as ever. She fixed up my over-processed blonde so that it looked natural and soft, and gave me a great cut, maintaining my length but giving me lots of volume. I'm totally thrilled with the result. As a downtown girl, getting out to Sherway Gardens was super easy on the TTC. It's completely worth it for the great service and student-friendly price.
